  1. Hua Hin is a lovely place, nothing like the hustle & bustle of Pattaya. For golf & good food and general relaxation , it is fine. However if you like shopping, lively entertainment, cinema choice and so forth then I suspect you would get bored after a while.
  2. Excellent guys, thank you
  3. Would appreciate any information on what to buy and where. Mobile to Mobile, I have an unblocked phone.
  4. I popped into BG over festive period. My Wife and I thought it was a good place. Tried to get her picked up with the green mat, but no joy ! A very difficult balance and partly due to the space you have there, so a smaller area might be an interesting experiment. I can only wish you good luck, as working the way I meet you, mop in hand due to a water shortage, shows a dedication to duty and profit. Bon Chance
  5. Will there be an opportunity to play over the festive period 23rd Dec to 2nd Jan. I am certain my son in law and I would enjoy such an outing. Clearly we would need to hire all the gear, but I take it that would not be a problem !
  6. I am hoping to bring to meet up with the Family over the festive period. We have settled on pattaya as it easy to reach from the airport, and of course has lots to do outside of this forums specialities. I am keen for a short term let of a house or condo`s or a very comfortable spacious hotel or suite hotel, from 23rd December to possible 2nd January My wife & I, my son in law & daughter, and their brother in Law and two young teenage children. Access to a nice clean beach and easy for Golf & Tennis and all the tourist things etc. for around 30 to 40 euros a night. (per room per couple so to speak) For the most part this is to do the touristy things, and not have to pay through the nose for the 25th and 31st. Of course it will be only right and proper for the men folk to get into some light hearted mischief, but we can travel in for that. So some helpful suggestions would be very much appreciated.
  7. Thank you for comments, I guess joining a local society for golf seems a sensible way forward. I have to say I am also considering Hua Hin as a venue, as as for car, oldish ,blacked out windows with size! I would expect to rent, and have Tv etc included in package. As for the lasses, well only on a golf tour so to speak, but I can guess it would be fun to play once in a while ! Strikes me the quieter life is better, sport, massage , a glass or two, swimming and the export of goods to the UK via Internet. Both my wife and I will travel in Asia, and fly between HK , Aus and GB. Intention is to search in Jomtiem (!?) for a place to live for a few weeks. The excitement is in the investigation as well Anyway thank you for info
  8. My first post on the forum. I have posted a few on Hua Hin afterdark though. Golf, is there some local societies that expats and those living for a months/weeks at a time may become members of? The idea of all the time with a BG might worry my wife a little, a boys night out is different! However Golf and Tennis are my thing, with the fantastic massages available in LOS it keeps me going longer. I am interested in moving to LOS full time one day , but I note that somebody claims,£20,000 per year may not be enough to live on ..... Christ what do you boys do ? ( stupid Question I suppose) Anyway for me it would , sport, play and watch, afternoon games in UK are timed for evening over in LOS. Indulge in Massages, Boys night out , Travel to Nam , Cam etc in order to find best investment (outside of UK ) for property So I liked HUA HIN, but Pattaya is handy for flying into new airport then quick to here. I am searching places to live for a month for my first visit, Jomtiam I am told is ok , north area? A friend now lives with his TGF there paying £3-50 a day in a beach front condo , 7th floor. Is there a time not to visit Thailand and pattaya, is Nam a better prospect for some of the months ? When I arrive I look forward to catching up with some of the characters on the forum. Golf partners would be very welcome, 20 HC at the moment , but I would be hoping to get that down to 15 after 3 months
  9. We stayed In Hua hin in January.Sofitel, very pleasant. But not really cheap. There are a couple of hotels opposite Sofitel on the main drag, that are about 1200 Bht a night. Pool and so on. In truth they are on the left hand side of the road as u go towards the train station from Sofitel. I would also be interested in finding away from HUA HIN to Pattaya. other than Minibus or Taxi Loved Hua HIN, but want to compare to Pattaya. I am thinking of buying in Hua Hin and renting in Pattaya. It seems Pattaya has a bit more about it !!! Any thoughts? Jomtiem seems to be a reasonable place to stay, any help appreciated
  10. Excellent, well I look forward to making contact. If i was to set up ( live somewhere) I am considering chomtien, south of Pattaya, is this a good place in order to get to a club/ the club etc
  11. Hello , I am new to this Forum, but am a reasonable tennis player. Have made it onto ITF Seniors circuit. Am considering relocating to Phattaya, is there some good Tennis Singles and doubles played ? As luck would have it my son coaches in England Hong Kong and Aus. I played In hua Hin with my son in law , but would wish for a better club set-up / Being a little overweight , the cooler days are better for me. I am also happy to act as a drill partner if needed. If I was to relocate to Phattaya , ( not for sex city ) where should the better place be / I enjoy a little golf as well Hope you can help
