I'd recommend Captain's bar on soi honey for full English and queen vic on soi 6. Having said that I personally prefer buffet breakfasts at the hotels like Lek hotel on second road - great choice of thai or western food and fruit/cereal/drinks. Really cheap.

If only Virgin flew direct to BKK from LHR things would be great!!!

On the internet flight sites, they are generally coming out cheaper compared to the rest apart from Oman and Aeroflot when looking at London - Bangkok. Haven't personally flown with them but my friend flew to India with them and said they were fine. Check this out for an official ratings of the airline: http://www.airlinequality.com/Forum/jet.htm They are officially a 3 Star ratings airline with Skytrax. The very top airlines have 5 Stars.
