  1. At the market on Sth Pattaya Road where the seafood is I buy my food there and at the end of the seafood section off to the right there is a little stall where they will cook it up for you.
  2. I originally booked 10 days at Billabong. Stayed 2 nights. The room was a superior and was very large. Floors clean but walls had some dust. The reasons I moved out were >The room was so large it took the small air conditioner hours to get the room to a passable temperature. >The shower was designed that whenever I had one the water spread across the bathroom to the toilet area. > Only a small in room safe that I could not get my 13 inch laptop into. I moved to Destiny (a new building ) also in LK Metro opposite Metro Apartments. Its a disco/gogo downstairs and I stayed in their small room on the 1st floor. While it was staight above the gogo the noise level was quite ok. Higher floors I suspect would be almost silent. The room was as I said new. It was even though categorised small quite a decent size. 42 inch TV. Good sized wardrobe containing an in room safe (unfortunately too small for my laptop). King size firm bed and a balcony. Bathroom was a decent size with a separated shower that contained the water. See through glass between shower and Room size (excluding balcony was around 35 sq. Coffee and tea making facilities topped up daily with free bottles of water each day. Smalled stocked fridge that was adequate. Air conditioner cooled the room in minutes. Daily cleaning and change of bed linen. The room was high on qualit that left the Billabong for dead. Entrance through the gogo if you chose but I used the private entrance down the side of the building. I paid 900 a night but I think the new prices are Low Season 950 daily 6300 weekly 25500 monthly High Season 1050 daily 7000 weekly 28500 monthly I have no connections to the owner and this is an honest and true review. Destiny is in my opinion very good value given the quality of the rooms. I would recommend it highly if you are prepared to pay that little bit extra compared to other places in LK Metro. I certainly will be back again. Email for bookings is darrel@destinypattaya.com (or DARREL@DESTINYPATTAYA.COM - sure if all upper or lower case - same with website) and the website www.destinypattaya.com
  3. Haven't tried it myself but got good reports about the Butchers Arms in Soi Buakow at 850 baht a night for their best rooms. close to Lk metro. I have booked for February and will give feedback on my return.
  4. Any suggestions for crowns in bangkok and prices? Looking for 4-5 crowns at a reasonable price from a reputable dentist. Sorry its about Bangkok but I always see and get more informed information from this site on anything Thailand
  5. George my boy I probably wouldn't stay in this place because it will be away from the action for a newbie and a pain in the bum transport wise. Pick a place and book for 3-4 days and then look around on arrival on where you might want to stay longer term. Over and above what I said earlier I look for (clean, air con, cable , room safe, girl friendly ) I would add free WiFi and and easy access to convenient baht bus routes. If you see a place you like and the are silent on girl friendly, email and ask or ask for feedback here on specific hotels. Jim
  6. I have been on my 3rd trip to Patts and what I look for is Cheap, air con, room safe , clean and girl friendly. I have stayed at 2 places, Metro Apartmentnts in LK Metro just off Soi Buakoaw (around 600baht a night) and Secrets Hotel (700-1000 baht a night.)First is a little quieter and the second in the bowels of Walking Street. Neither has a pool (which is not a need for me). Areca Lodge on Soi Diana is a fully fledged traditional hotel with a pool but a fair bit more expensive(closer to 1500). I personally prefer places like Ive suggested. I suggest you pick out 2 or 3 you like and post again asking for specific feedback.
