Evening all, On my last visit there was something going on with the tobacco imports and I couldn't get B&H for love nor money... Are they back on sale now or do I need to bring em with me? I can't stick L&M or Marlboro? I think BAT were at odds over import duty or something.. mkindy

Hi All, Just a heads up, I have booked a flight with Jet via Mumbai for £380. Leaves on 18th retuning early April. I always prefer direct but with Thai quoting £515 I am basically saving most of my accommodation costs for about 4 hours inconvenience. Saw a similar deal about a week ago for leaving on 11th but couldn't re-organize my work schedule in time to book it... Think this is the cheapest I have encountered.... oh yes.. booked through expedia which I think for the first time ever was the cheapest... mkindy

Hey Villa, when you looking at coming back into the uk? Assuming 2 weeks I think thats a pretty good price for direct with only about 6 weeks to wheels up. I get around 670 for direct with eva or thai from lhr to bkk for these dates on the sites I use. Got to agree with changing planes, I just want to get a flight over with and hanging around an airport is never my idea of fun .... everyone is different of course but having done a couple of indirects to LOS and PI as well as a shed load of other destinations for business I will always try to fly direct even with the hassle of having to go down to lhr. I also now always do a drop off and collect at the terminal for the car, it's about 10 quid more expensive but you get to just drive to T3 not the 3 miles drive around the perimiter to the long stay and then the bloody bus all the way back along the same road.. they even cleaned my car for the price and only had to wait outside T3 for about 3 minutes on return for them to deliver it right back to me...brilliant service (oops sorry this is a little of topic but just a heads up) regards regards mkindy

Many thanks...you have created an oasis in a very mad place.... I eat often and love the fact I can just chill with the paper before the madness of Pattaya beckons me into the night... I know it's nuts but I love to just relax in PBG and do the bangkok post crossword then go hunt down my teerak du jour.. keep up the good work...every time I have been in the staff have been a credit to the place and the food spot on.. 2 weeks and I will resume my usual place early evening with the paper and the craic with the staff and FL's.... mkindy
