  1. Not so obvious mate. In fact, you could pass for one since you have morals and are kind. Thanks for the link. Wasn't aware of this event and been wanting to find one. Even considered going to Angeles City, still might. If I don't, I'll go to this picnic. Cheers. Nok
  2. http://www.cathayusa.com/dotm/dotm.asp
  3. Cambodia isn't cheap any longer mate. Ladies ask for and get $50usd short time. May as well stay in Pattaya and go to Misty's. Nok
  4. Why would that be taking time out? And your basis is flawed. These joints change like the wind plus it only takes "one" or "two" good/bad experiences to make people think one is better than the other. Misty's remains clean, comfortable and within the price range of the other GoGo's. So is Catz I assume. I'm just missing your point Tom. Please clarify. Thanks. Nok
  5. Manny is a 255 to 100 favorite. You put down 255 to win 100. (get back 355 if he wins) Ricky is a 100 to 195 underdog. You put down 100 and win 195. (get back 295 if he wins) The spread is how the bookie makes his/her money in the big picture. There are many more lines to bet and enjoy. Search the web sites, easy to do. Cheers. Nok
  6. I mentioned it because some of it is shit, other is good. Had a bad Aussie steak in the New York Steakhouse at the Marriott in Bangkok. Had a good one at a mates condo in Pattaya. He brought me another excellent one from Australia. Some average purchased here from Central Festival. All American beef on the other hand, is good to excellent and all Thai beef has been bad to uneatable. Nok
  7. Sheanagins on Second Road, the Avenues Mall is a great venue to watch sports, including Boxing. There isn't a huge boxing fan base but with Hatton, will be a good crowd. He does his best to get it. Good breakfast and nice place. One Hatton fight was a problem but something out of his control, computers etc.. Pay per View never been a problem! Regarding the time, I will go look now for the odds, but check with the bookies. The way it usually works, they have a fixed time for the main event. Then have the undercard and depending how it goes, fill in later or lead up to the main event. I will be out of town, on a bus to Issan, but hope you enjoy the fight. A great match up. Nok LIGHT WELTERWEIGHT FIGHT - 12 ROUNDS LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - PPV BOXING- May-2 RICKY HATTON + 195 MANNY PACQUIAO -255 It indicates 10pm, but not clear if EST or Vegas time. Who do you like?
  8. Hi Tom. How much is a bottle of water in Catz? If 85baht, hardly something to blast out on the internet mate. PSP, I see the magic word..."Pig" and will stop in tomorrow. I think I now know of TWO pig parties tomorrow so I'll bring an extra 500baht to buy my drinks. Really appreciate the bottled beer happy hour as well. Cheers mate. Nok
  9. Click on the satellite option on the link I provided: http://maps.google.com/?ll=13.73770,100.55...73770,100.55340 If lady you pick up in the Nana area complains about the walk, tell her to get fucking lost. She has a piss poor attitude. If it is a lady you have paid a barfine for and agreed to over pay her as is the norm in Nana Plaza itself, tell her to shut the fuck up or give you the barfine money back. If it is a lady/ladyboy you have picked up in Thermae or that area, I do recommend you simply cross Sukhumvit and indeed take a taxi back to the hotel, having him turn left on Soi Nana and proceed to the hotel. Same with Soi Cowboy or Soi 33. Taxi back. As for the walk itself, I'm lazy and it isn't that big a deal. No worries really mate. Some lady complains, she is a BITCH and get rid of her quick mate, and get your barfine back from HER or take her phone. Honest. Cheers. Nok the Kook I've done that, believe it not, ONLY in Bangkok! Nothing wrong IMHO with buying a 20baht sleeve of detergent and hand washing a few shirts, socks, and shorts/slacks. Hang dry and with the AC dehumidifying your room, clothes will be dry in the morning. BTW, most of the washing machines are simply sloshing the water around, not American quality. Some here are however "above" such chores but IMHO why spend 200-300baht on just a few items. Never under estimate the willingness of people here in Thailand to rip you off. Never. Just talked with a guy who paid 1200baht for a taxi to Nana Hotel from the airport, his first visit. Nok I could say the same thing about Aussie beef, but I won't. Nok
  10. No door to door company. You will need to just follow the advice given above. Taxi from either the Pattaya North bus station or Sukhumvit itself, depending which bus you find and catch. It is not difficult, not a hassle, have no fear. Nok
  11. Laundry is a complete rip off all along Soi Nana and Sukhumvit. A huge problem. Never have found a coin laundry, which BTW are becoming more and more common in Pattaya. There is a joint on Sukhumvit Soi 8 where they do a load for something like 90baht. A SMALL LOAD and no dryer or ironing. I has an internet cafe attached, a great concept if were only reasonable! Shit. It is very frustrating. If anyone knows of a reasonable laundry any place along Sukhumvit in this general area please post. The "least" expensive I found was a small place over by one of the Orchid places behind the new Grand sometihng Soffitel. Even there, not fair. 50baht a kilo. A kilo is one pair of shorts, socks, and a tee shirt! Nok Who wants to pay 50baht to wash an iron a 100baht tee shirt!
  12. Many here in Pattaya have a distinct disdain for Americans. We know nothing, do too much, take too many showers, wear clean clothes and brush our teeth after meals. We think of those who think they know it all, do nothing, rarely bath, wear the same clothes for days, and never brush their teeth as "freaks". These folks seem to come from Europe. However, the freaks did invent the "toliet sprayer" which is pictured below and in most hotels here, but NOT in the IBIS reviewed. Cheers mate. Nok
  13. Just finished a short stay at the IBIS. I'll do a brief review despite being an American. The rooms are small, but new and fine. If you are an American, call it a Motel Six quality wise. Cheap furniture but comfortable. The beds are find. No sprayer for your Euro freaks. The cable TV is good. A flat screen but that not a big deal, only saves space. Nothing special about the picture. The bathroom is fine, again, all of this your basic "BUDGET" quality. Expensive internet in the lobby. 100baht for one hour. Good service, but not Pattaya prices. They have a lounge and resturant, didn't try either. In room hot water, instant coffee and tea. Many rooms have no view. ALL the rooms are no smoking but some guests cheat on this rule. Lobby itself very nice, well appointed. No hassle with guest. Brought in one ladyboy and two freelancers picked up off the street. No hassle, no ID bullshit for the weak. The rooms have an electronic safe which I didn't use. I prefer to just chain and lock my guest to the bed. Never do long either. You get the point. The location is right next to the Omni, a short walk but a walk to Sukhumvit. Good location overall all things considered. The guest are mixed, some couples etc.. Not a lot of ladies or ladyboys trickle in or out. Security is present but keeps a distance as should be he case. At the current prices of 850-1000baht plus 17% tax and service, I can reccomend this property. Bangkok losing its allure for me but as far as hotels go within the price range, a great deal. Cheers. Nok the Kook
  14. Regarding the Yellow Bus, it goes to the further turn off, past Theprasit. If you are on it, would be best served to get off at Theprasit Road and take a moto down to View Talay 2. There is also a bus service which uses the airport terminal, the same company which is with Bell. This one goes to the Pattaya North station. From there you would take a Song Tow to Joiemtien, or Moto of course. Moto would be expensive. I don't know which is the 1900 bus, could in fact be both. The yellow bus has an office inside the airport. There is a free shuttle to the Airport bus terminal. Finally, you wouldn't need to go all the way back to Ekamai. You can get over to whatever road that is, where the Tesco/Lotus is due south" from the airport, the one which parallels the airport with the expressway, and catch a bus going south easily enough. Look for one going to Rayong and ask if they are going thru Pattaya, which many do. It is a slower pace, but quicker than going all the way back to Ekamai. Taxi to this spot I guess. OR, if there is a bus in the airport station going to say Chonburi, you could catch it, then find one going to Pattaya. Nok
  15. Your disdain and disgust is shared by many, including me. However, it is misdirected. You should and most likely do realize it should be directed at the ones who posted the photos in such a fashion and those condoning the public display of them. They are the ones labeling these ladies prostitutes with same. Gidday. Nok
  16. http://maps.google.com/?ll=13.73770,100.55...73770,100.55340 Above is the location of the hotel. It appears it is a new property, not remodeled but I'm not sure. I think I'll give it a go and will post a review here. Thanks for the post LTGTR. I didn't see your post until after I made my new topic. This is what the internet used to be about, sharing information and experiences. Now of course, marketing of bars and other such bullshit has taken over most of these forums. Take care and Cheers. 17. Called the property. The say 500meters from Sukhumvit, and before Omni complex.(which is too far!) To book directly with them, want 1200baht a night all inclusive but no breakfast. There is a rate of 850baht plus plus(total of 1000baht) on the web site but must pre-pay and no changes. Pre pay 1000baht or book without guaranty 1200baht....the decisions we must make in life..... To be continued.....like what I see so far. Nok
  18. http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-7295-ibi...ana/index.shtml Thanks for the post. Found the web site. It looks brand new or remodeled? The big question remains how far down Soi Nana. Going to figure that out now. Nok
  19. Been there. That price opens up many places. Thanks mate. Saw this one below. Anyone know how far from Sukhumvit? The web site says 500meters? That seems a tad far for me but could do I suppose... http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-7295-ibi...ana/index.shtml Looks good, is it? Thanks. Nok
  20. May be the wrong site, but anyone with a recommendation on an inexpensive Bangkok hotel please post. Generally speaking..... -Good Air Conditioning -Clean -Walking distance to BTS , which means within two blocks. Omni for example is too far but Dynasty Grand is okay. -Don't care about swimming pool -Don't really want a short time hotel like Playboy -Need a window but don't care about a view -No ID deposit policy for lady or ladyboy when with me -Fridge but of course don't care about mini-bar -Prefer detached shower but could make do with Euro style of water room The Nap Inn as an example, not suitable. Want a star up from that. This place: www.staywithorchid.com gets some good and some bad reviews. I have no budget but since staying four nights don't want to waste 3000-4000baht on a better quality room. One or two nights I'd stay in a nicer hotel, 1500-2000baht. But not for four. Cheers and thanks. Nok
  21. The topic started with the words "with permission of management". So, my remarks are on topic. You first go after mulphy, now me. I am posting how things are and rather than disagree, guys/gals like you issue your personal shit and distract away. If you have a disagreement with the remarks, let it be known. As said elsewhere, if you just want to be a keyboard warrior and go after local guys, both bar owners and customers who live here and are a part of the community, I'd kindly request you save it for those who care. It is very childlike. Like mulphy, if you are serious, we request you try it on in person. Cheers. Nok the Kook
  22. We, the Pattaya public, think you are or at least were, sending her money. No other reason to give a darn why she didn't tell you she now works half naked in a GoGo. The Philippines has nothing to do with it other than your continued red herrings and avoiding the issue with drama created by denial and silly games. This is known as drama in a childlike environment (the R.P.) and here in Pattaya, nothing is childlike. You must lie back to keep the game going. Otherwise it will become misery and depression. She knows you know, but the photo takes it to another level. That means EVERYONE knows and hence, my disdain for the use and plastering of them like this. Party photos okay, but this "stuff" is not okay for her, for Thailand, or for me. You are not Thai but you are dealing with Thai culture. Cheers. Nok
  23. Thanks for the invite. Had a great time. Food was good, especially the hamburger helper. (I think I'm the one who drank your 14th Heniken, you came back for it and I was too shy to say then I started drinking it since it was there so long, along with two others not touched and I'm a cheap cunt, regrets and sorry, owe you one next time) Nok
  24. More distractions away from the issues and topic of the thread. An unfortunate practice by many. When you are ready to discuss or "debate" the issues and stay away from the personal insults and innuendos send me a PM with a link. Until then, consider yourself in a circle jerk off with a few of the others so inclined. Not for me mate. Cheers. Nok
  25. Nope, you don't get it. I don't hate it at all. Just trying to help. I understand the exploitation of women by bars quite well my friend. This sort of layout and disclaimer is IMHO a perfect example. Don't you see the NUMBERS on the ladies? Being in denial is your choice. I simply am not. Cheers. Nok the Kook
