  1. I use avast on 3 computers and never had a virus on any of them. I use spybot (free) to scan for spyware. Both have been excellent programs to use.
  2. Hey Dom. It was great to meet you in September. I will see you mid December and actually hit the gym with you this time as i will be around for a month. Simmo
  3. Hi all. I am planing my trip to Pattaya for December. I am looking to stay for 1 month from December the 10th. I am seriously thinking about booking a place for 1 mth as you seem to get a good rate this way and being peak season i didn't want to have the hassle of trying to find a hotel when im there. I guess one question i have would be, do you guys think that peak season will be very busy this year? After looking around on the net i can get into the LK Royal Suite (deluxe room) for 27000bht for the month all inclusive (900bht/day). I stayed in some guest houses on the last trip and could get them for about 15000-20000bht for the month but for the little extra i would rather a place that has a pool and better facilities as i will be there for a month. In room internet is also a must. I have also looked at a website that deals with apartments/condos in View Talay 6 but im not sure about this avenue for 1mth stays. I do like the idea of having a kitchenette which the condos offer. Has anyone rented a condo for 1 mth and have any advice? Does anyone have any suggestions on other places to look at that are in the same price range and comparable or any feedback on View Talay 6? I am open to all suggestions so please feel free to comment. Thanks Perth_Simo
  4. Dont forget the Aussie $. In May i was getting 25bht/$1 and in Sept got over 28bht/$1. Should be 30bht when i get back in Dec
  5. Thanks Irish Rovers for the great stay. Had some good times and met some great guys and girls. I will be coming in for a drink late december. Great place to hang out and meet people. Cheers Simo
  6. I would look at a Dell mate. Excellent laptops to be had in the mid to high end selection and their waranty is excellent. I have recently purchased a studio 1555 and its very impressive. On the Dell website you can customise your build. I went with a P8600 (DualCore 2.4ghz) cpu with 4gb ddr2 800 ram and upgraded the screen to a 1080p WLED (1900x1080). Pictures ect look awsome on the screen. I got a couple of 9cell dell batteries for the laptop and get about 5hrs/battery if im not doing anything too intensive. The studio range also comes with an Ati 4570 graphics card which has enough grunt to play most of the latest games. The laptop cost me about $1600 AU thats with everything listed above and also bluetooth, wireless, built in 2mp webcam, backlit keyboard, 3 years waranty, Vista 64bit (with free upgrade to Win7), Office 2007 home and student, 15mths McAfee(crap and dont use it) and a laptop backback. With Dell it pays to look around on the net for Dell Coupons. I was able to use one that gave me 15% off and there was a sale with $100 off the laptop with office, antivirus and laptop bag free.
  7. Thanks for that MM. All the hotels i have listed are in my price range. The Lk Renaissance is 1500bht/night and The Mantra has a special atm of 1000bht/night. I realise the Mantra is a bit out of the way but at that price i may do a couple of nights there just to check it out. Once again thanks for the info. Its looking like RG may be the go.
  8. What was the LK Renn like? anything special? Im also wondering if anyone has heard of the Lk Legend. Is it new?
  9. I'm heading to Pattaya on the 3rd Sept for a two week stay and need some help selecting a hotel. My original plan has now gone to shit so now i need to find a hotel to stay at. I'm staying at the Irish Rovers for the first 4 days as this was already booked with Pat. Im looking at a budget of between 1000 - 1500 baht/night and somewhere that doesn't charge for joiners. Last time i was in Patts i stayed at Lk Metropole which was fine apart from them charging me a joiners fee for one of the girls when i bought two back. This time i want to try something different. I've narrowed my list down to a few hotels and would like to get the opinions and suggestions of other BM's. Must haves in the room include internet, safe, a balcony and is guest friendly. The prices are the cheapest i could find online. Baboona Beachfront - 1300/night Lk Legend - 1000/night must book 1week min for this rate. Cant find reviews on this one but looks good Lk Royal suite - 1300/night Lk Renaissance - 1500/night Summer Spring - 1200/night Eastiny Plaza - 1100/night Mantra Pura Resort - 1000/night Dont know if they are guest friendly. Residence Garden -1450/night Cheers Simo
  10. Im thinking of trying bell travel this time. My flight arrives at the airport at 16:40. If i remember correctly from my last visit i should have plenty of time to get the 18:00 Bell bus. Would i be correct in assuming this? Cheers simo
