Could anyone recommend some decent hotels that include secure parking.

Call them. I ws on the phone for over an hour and they found 3 tickets for me 60k each and my family.

I am not rich but I do make enough to not have to worry about my electric bill which here in the states is alot more than in Thailand. I am just saying that if I had to worry about such a small amount it wouldn't be worth living there for me.

I am confused about what the big deal is. I would think that if I lived there I would run the AC 24/7 as I do here at home inthe summer. If I couldn't afford that I couldn't afford to like there.

Korean, Delta fly from Atlanta through Korea to Bkk. American through Dallas or Chicago partnered with JAL and the usual others through Chicago, Detroit ect. Yeah might be worth connecting with the direct Thai Air flight.

Yes they only have 1 flight a day to Bangkok. Arrives at 11:50pm and leaves at 6:00AM. Not the best times but they do leave and return from home at good times.

Checked out NW today and they have some promo fares for around $900 for May June time frame. Good price if traveling from the east or midwest USA.

If you are going this summer after May that is probably as good a price as any. You can check www.angeltravel.com I got a American Airlines/JAL at the end of May weekend travel for about the same price.

You really have to shop around for good deals now. I got SDF - BKK on AA for $1050 May 28th to June 19th.

Has anybody stayed at this hotel or have any information on it? I am interested becasue of the price + inroom internet access.

Last year I used my NW miles to go to BKK. I am gold elite and I called and no problem. Got lucky I guess. I think now that they went to the smaller plane from NRT to BKK it would be much harder to find a seat.

Call and ask if they have a shuttle. The airports are not that far apart but is it worth missing the flight in traffic or an accident.

I've been looking for flights for late May. Seems that in the last week they went up about 4 or 5 hundred US. Hope they have some discounts for that time of year or I'm stuck at home.

I stayed there about 2 years ago. After the 1st night I found another hotel. Not bad if it is just a base until you find another place but when I was there the rooms were very musty smelling. I checked 3 rooms before I took one but still had the smell.

Buy her a round trip BKK to USA to BKK usually cheaper.

DTW (Detroit) has 1 sports bar that you can smoke in. It is near the across from the dutyfree.

4 of us flew phuket for 500 baht each way plus taxes in May. No problems except for an oder gentleman taking my bag instead of his. Got it back after about 1 hour but really wasn't the airlines fault.

Yes the Orchid Residence was a good hotel to stay. I was there last summer and it was 550 for deluxe through latestays.com. Small hotel but very friendly. Keep very clean. Usually have a few people sitting at the bar that are freindly and can give good advice on places to go eat, drink, motorbike rental, ect. Just up the street from soi bangla. Just far enough that you don't get disturbed from the loud noises late night.

Definately not a bad price for that date. I have been looking and can't find anything under $1000 for late december departure from Kentucky. Last Xmas - New Years cost me $1300.
