flooding, will we see a repeat of 2015, 2014,2013 etc

Makes sense. It must be really cold (for Thais) where you live, but the weather would be perfect for you. -

When I visited Loei I was staying in Loei Palace and got to see this. I have no idea of what happened back then, my friend told me that at her mum's house the ground floor and the first floor were under water and she had to stay on the second floor. -
I don't know how much the FF points are actually worth in United, but certainly won't be worth their $3,700 pricetag. If you join a Frequent Flyers forum you'll see all kinds of posts and advice on how to maximise your miles. A FF point in Qantas/Emirates is roughly worth 1.5c. Plenty of credit cards give you 1 FF point for every $ you spend (American Express cards give you even more). The credit card issuer charges your merchant a fee. Part of their fees funds this FF scheme. Simple as that.

Moving to pattaya as a single lady ? is it safe?

Keep in mind they drive on the left (actually they drive right-left and centre but they're supposed to drive on the left) in Thailand. -
The way it's set up a household name will be the winner for the next few years at least. Messi is a greater player but was plagued with injury last year. Ronaldo only won a cup of coffee at starbucks last season. Become a world class footballer they said. You'll pull the best pussy they said...

How Big is Tourism for Thailand?
Andrew19 replied to sabaidii2's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
There is a huge cash economy in Thailand. Bars are only the tip of the iceberg. It's not worth trying to tax it as most thais earn less than the equivalent of the tax free threshold and if they were to tax it though the whole country would revolt. For example, most businesses, vendors etc are set up as a thai small business, pretty much they only have to pay for their registration and licence fees in order to trade. No VAT collected. no payroll tax, no income tax... -
Love this place, great food and good service. Superman breakfast FTW!

Went over there a few times, food quality was good, so I guess I should retract my earlier post. The service was hit and miss though.

I was staying near WS and went for either lunch or dinner there every day, sometimes for both in 2011. Used to love the place but it has gone downhill. Service is good but the quality of food has dropped. I've never seen Thai girls not eating their food elsewhere. Beginning of the year, food was bad, thought maybe the place was too busy and it was prepared in a hurry. Went once in May, food was crap again. Thought to give the place a chance, went again for dinner after a couple of days, food was crap. Went there again during November, took a side dish, not worth it. Since then I'll only buy

You can just go to pretty much any travel agency in Patts and they'll take care of it. You'll pay some 100 baht more but it includes pickup from your hotel as well.
-
Keep in mind that you can also carry a 12kg (which is supposed to be under 7kg but nobody bothers to check) cabin luggage! Most of the time their planes are empty as well.

A lot of bookies were inaccessible from my trip in Thailand (I don't understand why do they block some and allow others). However I didn't gamble anything from Thailand for 2 reasons, one was that the bookie might see a log in from a different country and could lock my account, the second was that GAMBLING IS ILLEGAL IN THAILAND! While the chances of getting caught are really slim I went there for a holiday, not for a trip to the monkeyhouse!
