  1. I've always flown NW, even with its bad arrival and leave time, from Houston, but now can't find a decent price for Dec and don't have enough miles for freebie under their current requirements. Choices coming down to China Air at around 1084usd and AA around 990usd. China air has great arrival and departure time(what a trip to just get to BKK at mid-day instead of mid-nite). AA isn't too bad, but does arrive at 2245, depart ok. Saw a couple of decent prices with Korean Air but arrive and depart esp depart not good. I've seen the responces to the China Air post,China Air looks ok, but has any one flown AA or both? I'm flying cattle class(no money to spare for a 32 day trip). Travel agent says AA has more leg room in addition to being cheaper. I'm thinking worth the extra $ just to not have the mad rush to Nana Parking Lot from the hotel because every thing closed by time I get there anymore. I'm buying ticket this week one way or another, I can't stand it anymore! Gotta have it in hand! Had my hotel reservations since April and with fuel prices like they are, bird flu or not, ticket prices not going down in my opinion. Thanks for any and all help.
  2. Just ran adaware and found they put a tracking cookie on me. Does't look good, thanks LeoTex.
  3. Best to not acquire enough riels to even thing about exchange. Take good usd$1's, 5's and maybe a few 20's, but never pay for anything that will result in you getting large amount riels back in change, ie don't pay for beer with a usd$20. The baht is also good there, same thing don't use large denomination for small tab. You should try to spend whatever "excess" in riels you have, although everyone wants usd or baht, not riel. If you go, and have the time, see the killing fields and prison. It is a downer, but really a must see (only once though!). Hire a taxi for the time you are there, a good driver will take good care of you, very cheap and will keep you safe. Interesting flight, a Boeing 737(I believe) with what appeared to be Russian instructions and a Russian flight crew. First time I ever landed at an airport with MIG's. There are some good posts here already on Kampuchea, check them out. Have a good trip, it is diff. but lots of fun.
  4. I will miss her. Another life taken too damn soon. My condolences to family and friends.
  5. Alright, now that we have world war III in words (absolutly amazing how brave one can be on the internet), does anyone have the answer to the original question? I really would like to know if a farang can legally own a firearm in Thailand. Skytrooper can piss off the pope(like I could care), but he knows history and the American Constitution/Bill of Rights better than anyone else here. I don't and won't always agree with him, and he does work overtime at pissing people off, but he is right on when it comes to freedom and what keeps people free, it damn sure itsn't the gov't. Just a little quote, "They that give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty or safety" Benjamin Franklin one more, don't know the writter, "I'd rather die on my feet than live on my knees" I still want to know if a farang can own firearms in Thailand.
