  1. Where in Pattaya can I buy a takedown (unscrews in the middle) pool cue with case? Do some of the big stores carry these or are there any sporting goods stores?
  2. I recommend Asiana Airlines out of Seattle. My travel agent,Justfares has been trying to talk me into it for a couple years. Usually I take EVA, but for the price, their service has seemed to gone downhill. (don't get me started on Thai's poor service.) Great flight on Asiana, good food, nice entertainment, comfortable seats in economy. Will fly them again. (Will never fly Thai again after 30 years of flying with them.)
  3. I recently flew Thai Airway Manila to Bangkok. I've been flying Thai off and on for 30 years, but never again. The plane was late arriving so it was late leaving. Thai switched in a smaller plane then advertised when I booked, so it was packed. The carpets were filthy and looked like they had never been cleaned. An overhead panel was loose, falling down and no one seemed to care. Parts of my tray table were cracked/broken.The worst of all is that I am a senior citizen so instead of heavy carry-on like younger people I checked mine and Thai charged me $85us. Just a few days before I had flown f
  4. I knew I was going to pay top money for a seafood meal on beach road, but I wanted a really quality meal. I went to the Mr. 99 restaurant on beach road and had one of the worst meals I've ever eaten. I ordered Lobster and Kibib. The lobster was old and turning in flavor, the vegys on the kibob were not cooked and the pork/chicken was way over cooked. The service was poor to non-existant also. I ordered an overpriced MaiThai and it was all ice with no alcohol and was very small inside of a large non-see through glass. All and all a real rip-off place. I do not recommend going there.
  5. Has anyone flown Asiana buisness class Seattle-Seoul and/or Seoul-Angeles City? How is the seating, food, in-flight service, ground service? What is the cheapest/best web site in the U.S. for tickets on Asiana? Any other airlines Seattle-Seoul that might have a better/cheaper buisness class?
  6. I can't believe Cathay Pacific got an award. Flew them last year LAX-HK-BKK and they were the pits.(both ways.) Bad service, terrible new "shell seats", dirty airplane, over crowded/packed. So much noise in the cabin, I couldn't hear anything in the headphones. For 7 hours they flew through thunder storms instead of around them. My dad was a Capt. for Pan Am back in the day, so I grew up around the airlines. Cathay Pacific used to be good, but it is now a bottom line cattle car airlines. I'll never fly them again!
  7. Forgot. If you are flying Cathay Pacific out of/into LAX-HK, they have an agreement with American Airlines that packs the plane. Really over crowded with their new uncomfortable shell seats, but they can pack more people in.
  8. Been coming to Thailand since '81. Have taken trains all over. Take the train. (1st class sleeper is worth the extra money.) Nong Kai is a nice town for a few days. Very laid back. The riverboat/dinner thing is kind of fun once. In Bangkok, you can take the subway from sukimvit (soi Asoke) right into the train station at the end of the line. Used to be a lot of pickpockets in the BKK train station though.
