    Etihad

Never had a problem with Etihad in economy but rear seats can be hot on all aircraft. I didnt notice any difference in the cabin but actually prefer the 777. food is excellent and in fact all the planes are quite new considering they completely replaced and updated the whole fleet over a very short time around 10 years ago I believe. The facilities in Abu Dhabi are second to none. The new terminal is only a short walk (indoors) from the old one (tent shape ). The lounges are Waiter service hot food about 10 Internet wide screen Apple Macs. Beer on tap etc etc. much better than the old one
  3. Dont know what peope think its not possible. But I do know some students who would make great doctors dont get the chance. Whilst others who dont, get on medical courses because they get top grades in pre university exams. What we need is a SAT like the American system. Then someone who only acheived say, a B in maths would still get the chance of selection. Some of our best potential doctors never get the chance.
  4. Have some comments on this. My friends Thai wife is a nurse in the UK. She is very well thought of and excellent in her job as a theatre nurse. Two of her Thai girl friends are Doctors. One thing to remember is that the cost of qualifying in medicine in Thailand and say in India is far less than in say the Uk or probably the USA or Europe. To that end our student are in fact disadvantaged. One girl we know married a Uk national but had to go back to Thailand to medical school as there was just no chance of completing such studies here because of the cost and the courses were full even if y
  5. Its more about schedules than airlines with me. EVA is ok but flight scheduling means ariving in BKK late i like to get there about 7 or 8am not in the afternoon. I stilll fly Thai if I want direct or Etihad(from Manchester) if I dont but recently Etihad have been expensive as are Qatar. Emirates look like they are becoming more competitive they fly from Manchester too. I flew back last time on Jet and Mumbi airport was just unacceptable. Never again.
  6. I would not let people like that in my condo. If I had one!! That is. He doesn't even understand what a contract means. Then proceeds to denigrate the population of a whole country because of his sad experience. One thing the English gave to most of the world was an understanding of legal contracts and organisation. We even borrowed people countries and rented them back to them. Many are better of now than they were then. Overall they got a good deal. Pax Britannia
  7. But what was the £200 surcharge for ?? Thats not common for all continental departures. any ideas?
  8. I tried looking around for a trip in after Xmas and found that by flying from Amsterdam the tax was less than a third of that flying from LHR.However flying fro Frankfurt showed little difference in APD. Its shouldn't cost much to get to Amsterdam Schiphol. However the airlines are taking the hit in the Uk and in the end the price for a flight from the continent doesn't seem to be that much lower at least not enough to compensate for all the hassle getting there in the fisrt place. It looks like we have to take the pain but it really is a bit sick as it reduces airline profits from the
