  1. Hotels can be had much cheaper than the UK for equivalent facilities. I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Surrey regularly (not by choice we have meetings there) ). The rack room rate is £255 (12500bht) a night. Internet and movies in the room is £28 (1400bht) extra per night. There is no fridge. There is a mini bar but it is stocked with 1 can of beer two cans of soft drink and a half a bottle of wine. I think there's some water in it as well. If you as much as knock it it will charge the drinks to your room bill. No room for anything else in there. I hang Singha (Yai) Beer out of the window (bought from Tescos at £1.33.) Beer is £4.20(210bht) a glass. A burger costs £11.68.((580bht) It does have a fitness centre and a small swimming pool usually full of fat old women. The room has no air con but it has controlled heating. There are no bathroom toiletries (you have to ring for them if you have forgotten anything). Compare that to any reasonable hotel in Pattaya.
  2. No its not as important as apassport and i have two of them in anycase. Dick head.
  3. Your supposed to do it but I never have. Ever. Not in the last 20 years. i do carry my UK driving licence as ID. On the two occasions when stopped by the BB (one in Pattaya after a car accident once on the way to Korat both while driving) I showed my UK driving licence and it was no problem. If i carry it I will lose it and what do you do with it when your out for a run ?? Impossible.
  4. I like to get to bed early in anycase. Why stay out spending money drinking stuff thats going to ruin performance . 2am is well late enough.
  5. Often gastroenteritus is linked to bacterial infections and named by symptoms not cause. This is true certainly of the NHS in the UK and below is a quote from their web site. That helps doesnt it?
  6. Quite right but it doesn't stop the drug companies like those who make Loxinor or its replacement Cifloxin (think that's the right spelling). from stating it cures gastroenteritis and gonorrhea and etc etc .
  7. I have just booked a trip to Phuket from the Uk (LHR)with my family later this year. The breakdown of prices is quite stunning.. In the end I went with Singapore Airways. Reasonable schedules with only an hour or two wait in Singapore between flights. Cost of Flight .. £200 per adult return. Cost of taxes .. £210 per adult Cost of Surcharges ...£150 per adult. Total per adult £560 Its clear this flight is competitive for one main reason.. Its on the A 380. I dont see how airlines can keep it up with taxes that cost more than seats. Surely profits must be hit and the first thing to go is R & D and investment in new technology. Taxing airlines out of profitability is just trying to turn the clock back. If anyone is really intrested in energy saving and saving the planet this just isnt the way to do it. I expect it would better be if planes like this were always full but it looks like that isnt and wont be the case during this recession at least.
  8. It was cured by an anti biotic that was dispensed as a treatment for gastroenteritis. So I presumed it was reasonable to identify that as the cause. Same thing happened to me from King Sea Food. In any case the problem in adults is mainly caused my Norovirus not Rota virus (normally confined to children). It may have been just a simple bacterial infection (food poisoning) in either case the symptoms are the same so I am told. I am well aware of the difference between a viral infection and a bacterial one but you will see printed on many packets of anti biotic that they are treatment for gastro enteritus. Your guess is as good as mine.
  9. Used to like a meal in the PBG once week usually. The last meal I had wasn't so good in June. My GF said 'mai alloy' !! Then my son and his wife ate there in October and it gave him a very bad bout of gastroenteritis. Just about spoilt their stay in Pats. He is absolutely sure it was from the PBG. The last time I was poisoned was from King Seafood and I have never ate their since. It would be bad news if the food has deteriorated in the PBG as its well run and a great location.
  10. Very reasonable advice.. I have done it a few times.
  11. I thought it all depended on your card account ?/ Ie £500 max withdrawal a day would be around 25000bht.
  12. Well I know he isnt renowned for his generosity. Unlike me.
  13. None of the responses really fit but I will be in LOS with her and i think I will take her back to the bar where we met for a few drinks probably paid for by the owner who has had the pleasure of her working for him twice till I just had to step in and rescue her.
  14. You have noticed as well !!
  15. Best breakfast with real bacon in Pattaya in my experience was at the Garden Hut Restaurant next to the Hillside Hotel (opposite Pattaya Hill Resort). Haven't been for a while but it was exceptional.
