  1. Well just taking the Apple 21.5 inch Imac from your post that is 39,900 baht which I make about £800 off the top of my head. Here it is selling in the UK for £609.76. So that is nearly £200 cheaper than Thailand an it has an extra 4gb of ram. http://www.baytabs.c...006750nktp.html Ipad 2 16gb wifi from your post in Thailand 13,500 baht which is about £270? In the UK the 32gb model is £242. http://www.baytabs.com/index.php/apple-ipad-2-32gb-wi-fi-black-mc955ll-a.html
  2. I do not think they sell them in the UK but you can get the newer model RV520 with 4gb ram, 2.2 ghz processor,500gb hard drive,webcam,bluetooth,dvd/rw,HD graphics etc and a real copy of Windows 7 64bit Home Premium for £359. http://www.ebuyer.com/281876-samsung-rv520-laptop-np-rv520-a07uk#product-description You can pick up many very good laptops in the UK for under £300 now.
  3. I believe it was the Thai government who paid. http://thailand.prd....php?id=3972&a=2 http://www.nationmul...al_30089705.php
  4. Fair enough. It was just my view on what I saw on many trips to Thailand. I have not been there for a while so prices seem to have dropped a fair bit on TV's at least.
  5. Not too bad for 600 baht but if you want a balconey then you have to fork out 1100 to 1300 baht depending on the season. There are cheaper options than that in Pattaya.
  6. James Cagney.
  7. It is just the way I found it. I am not saying that everything in Thailand is more expensive,it is that with all the taxes in the UK I cannot see why many things in Thailand are on par or more expensive than the UK. I used to trawl around the electrical stores and generally found the stuff in them more expensive. Hygiene products were probably on par or cost more. Laptops were well over priced. You can buy a branded LCD TV in the UK for as little as £200 for a 32" now,are they cheaper in Thailand?

  10. There are plenty of things more expensive in Pattaya than in the UK and it makes me think, why? All kinds of taxes in the UK are much more than in Thailand. I can buy clothes cheaper in the UK than I can in Pattaya. Of course you can buy cheap clothes in Pattaya but they tend to fall apart after a few weeks or the t shirts shrink to half their size. Personal hygene products I have always found expensive in Thailand as well and electronic equipment like laptops,TV's, DVD etc. 2nd hand cars are well over priced there. I can pick up a good second hand car in the UK for probably half of what you would pay in Pattaya for the same thing. If you want to buy utter crap that falls apart then Pattaya wins hands down. Pattaya wins when it comes to the price of hotel rooms, food and the women.
