There used to be a shop up from the Carrefour now Big C on the same side on Pattaya Klang. I bought some things in their once upon a time and it was really cheap but so was the furniture. Going on the reviews on skytrax I would expect the worse then you should be happy if it is actually not that bad. For an extra £50-60 you cn fly with a decent airline. You can get on Etihad in November for £499. Vietnam Airlines £420.

When I go I tend to go for about 4 weeks as it is a long way and not cheap to fly there. I do get bored with the place pretty quickly though as I have been there so many times and tend to get a car and go to other parts of Thailand for a few days. If you are into gym work then there are a few gyms scattered about Pattaya,you can skip across to Koh Larn which is an island just off Pattaya,you can go fishing if that takes your fancy or you can just do the usual getting pissed for days on end,that seems to work for some fellas. Of course it will all depend on what you are like and what you enjoy

I remember being in Carrefour a few years back and having a look at the phones with a Thai girl I know well and asking her why what seemed like the same phones in the case were at different prices and the sale guy told her that the cheaper one was a copy.
