  1. I flew EVA air business for £1075 in June. Booked through East West In London. Not as good as BA but less than half the price. They currently have first class seats for £1300. Same size seat as business but with enormous seat pitch. ( only 8 seats in first class cabin as opposed to 16 in Business class ) Neil
  2. EVA air deluxe is very good value but it is not business class. In terms of seat size and pitch it is half way between economy and long haul business class. At the moment EVa have good deals on all classes, certainly from the uk. I recently flew business class for £1075 plus tax LHR BKK return, and they are currently offering FIRST class for £1300, less than half the price of business class on BA Neil
  3. Flights between London and Moscow are fairly reliable and will probably be by airbus. The moscow to bangkok sector is another matter and you are much more likely to travel in uncomfortable soviet era aircraft. Be prepared for delays and the possibility that your flight may be cancelled at short notice. Where aeroflot are strong is on price especially as you are travelling at christmas. If you travel outside peak times you can get fantastic deals on direct flights through companies such as westeast travel in London. Neil
  4. The reason you can get seats on Turkish airlines when everyone else has sold out is because they are crap. Not aeroflot crap but crap none the less. Neil Leeds Utd for ever
  5. I used to fly Eva Evergreen Deluxe a few years ago ( have switched to China in the recent past) and the service used to be excellent. Recent reports suggest standard of service has declined considerably so would appreciate feedback from someone who has used service recently. Would still recommend China for seat size and service but have got fed up with my suitcases arriving 24 hours after me. Neil
  6. I take a credit card to thailand but only for emergencies and have never had cause to use it in 15 years of visits. I would never use a credit card in a third world country except as a last resort and even in Europe i will only use plastic in large chains. Having run a buiness where i've had a credit card terminal i know just how easy it would be to commit fraud. Neil
  7. Don't be tempted by the business class deals being trailed by Lufthansa on the internet. £1225 is a good price for business class but the seats were no bigger than china premium economy ( although there was a greater seat pitch ) and the flights were over booked even in low season meaning that i was unable to get an aisle seat. any other business class recommendations are welcomed ( but not over £1250 uk-bkk ) Neil
  8. I've stayed at the flipper lodge 8 or 9 times over the past decade and have always found the staff to be superb. the reason their rates aren't the cheapest is that they are often fully booked even in low season. As the staff get to know your face you will get better rooms and seaview at no extra charge. only down side is that it can be a bit too noisy. Neil
  9. Stayed at Sabai lodge for 9 nights in June. Guest i.d was only checked once and i was bringing different girls back every night. good friendly hotel but maybe not ideal if you like to pick up freelancers due to the lack of checks. Neil
