I don't know about those who booked a good time ago but for me some airlines are trying to make themselves look good to customers by absorbing the £20 increase. I was looking mid January for a flight either the last week of Jan or first week Feb. Guess what the same timed flights in February were exactly £ 20 more. A week after booking , i got an email stating that the airline would absorb the tax increase. Very generous. bazz

Having read this,surely if you are already married this only protects you on half of the house value. 30 year lease from the wife.House in your name only. When divorced the house goes 50/50 and you will need to sell. Who's going to buy ? The courts may force the sale and you will get a pittance. You keep the lease but for what use. The land stays with her solely. Any comments ? Bazz

You should have an international driving permit and your driving licence . I was stopped 3 times in a 3 trips to Nong Khai from Udon.They were specifically looking for farangs without permits.Locally there seems to be crackdowns from time to time ( ie riding with no helmet ) If you have been to Samui at Chawang,nobody wears a helmet but you go to where the ferry docks from the mainland at the other side of the island there are notices in English that helmets must be worn and people are stopped if not complying all the time. Permits are available at many main post offices.Only about 5 or 6

Has any of you experience of changing planes at Bangkok.I am planning a trip from Udon Thani to Phuket in January using two different airlines(Nokair and Asia). As the check in closes 45 minutes before departure i am a little worried about the turnround times.I have an option of 2 hours .Is this adequate for getting off the plane ,collecting cases etc.The other option is a 3 3/4 hour yawn. Stevoh A couple of questions How early can you reconfirm a flight ? I am staying in LOS for eight weeks.Maybe a little early to reconfirm on arrival LOL I'm flying with Eva -Air.Is the reconfirmation required on the outward flight from Heathrow ? Thanks Emil for the info. Just a couple of questions.I take it that you are staying in the 800 Baht accomodation.Has the TV got some decent english and sports channels ? Any in room safe ? Is there much noise disturbance from the building work that supposedly would be going on to create the pool area ? Thanks again for your help Bazz

On their web site only the resort offers breakfast included.The free transport is a big bonus but i doubt if it is limo service and are you sure that they include the return trip to the airport. Anyway if it is up to the same same standard as their other two hotels it must be worth a look. Emil i'd be grateful if you could give more details on the inn house regards discounts on offer for a months stay and contact details if you have them. thanks bazz

Just a bit of info I couldn't get the booking i wanted with Thai air.Seems all departures out of bkk are fully booked on this special offer for the last two weeks of november.The latest journey now to uk is 12th nov so i was told by ebookers and airline-network. I finally found a deal with Eva through ebookers which comes back on the 22nd november.Direct flights £371 +tax which you can't grumble at .Hope that may help someone else in the same situation Thanks all for this great board Bazz
