Have you ever even been to Thailand? Are you one of those guys that spends your whole vacation on walking street and eating at McD?

If you don't eat street food in Thailand you don't know what you're missing. I have never had a problem with street food in Thailand. I know lots of people who have never had problems. I have had a couple problems with nice restaurants in Thailand but still very rare.

Dioralyte and Imodium are the same thing. Loperamide. Even if you're sick you can still go out and get bottled water. You make it sound like you need to be prepared for a nuclear winter or something. Seems a bit extreme to me. If you ever get that sick where you can't even get out to get bottled water then you need to go to the hospital. I know lots of people who eat street food and are ok. I also know lots of people who stuck with nice restaurants and supermarkets and got sick. You can never guarantee you won't get sick no matter what you do. Definitely always carry loperamide in case you need to travel while sick.

AC was always a total shithole. The food has always sucked. The trikes and all that other stuff was always like that. I don't think it has gone downhill. Just more of the same. Prices are up everywhere. Doesn't matter if you are talking AC or Pattaya. Pattaya is 10x better than AC in every way except for the girls. Philippino girls are better because of the more similar culture and the fact most can speak ok english. However, the fact there are so many girls and options for finding them in Pattaya makes up for it. Opinions will vary but those high priced hookers on wanker street are a waste of money imo. I get that some guys just want to fuck a stunner and will pay whatever and don't care if they are a starfish with personality to match. They have too many guys throwing money at them to give a damn about you no matter how awesome you may think you are. But have at it. I don't know any long term Pattaya residents who waste money/time on the overpriced wanker street girls anymore.

80-90% are 6's at best. You can't ignore them if that's all there is. Unless you just ignore beer bars all together which is what most guys who want decent looking girls do.

There are decent beaches around Pattaya. None of them are IN Pattaya From best to worst: Koh Larn (very nice, not as good as Phuket but still very nice), Back side beaches facing away from Pattaya are the best, take Twaen Beach Ferry (about 30baht and 45minutes ) Koh Larn, Front side facing Pattaya, take Naban Ferry (about 30baht and 35minutes), There is a 7/11 right at the dock and the main town with restaurants, guest houses etc. The nearest beach (I think) is also my favorite on the island. Naul (Monkey) beach. Feels secluded, lots of coconut trees, semi wild monkeys in trees, not bad snorkeling (you can rent it there). You may need to rent a scooter to get out there. No sure if there are guys who will take you there and pick you up or not. http://kohlarn.com/schedule.htm http://www.kohlarn.com/beach.htm Sunset Beach (?), Take Sukhumvit for about 20 minutes to the next town past Jomtien which is called Na Chom. It's just past that, look for a sign. Nothing special other than nice fine white (ish) sand. Not much around there other than the beach. Bang Sare, the next town after Na Chom and maybe another 20minutes. Quiet fishing town with a nice long crescent beach and views of Jomtien off in the distance. It's kind of a simple red clay sand type beach that is nothing special but combined with being in a small fishing town atmosphere with a few places to eat makes it a nice day trip. The beach between Jomtien and Pattaya (Asia Beach?) near Cabbages and Condoms restaurant. Better than Jomtien because not as busy, no traffic etc. Go towards Jomtien and at the top of the hill head towards the water. Look for signs. Keep going till you find the parking lot. North Jomtien Beach. Where the Road to Jomtien turns and goes along the beach take the pedestrian only path along the beach in the other direction walking back towards Pattaya. South Jomtien Beach. The long one everyone is familiar with that the baht busses go up and down. Naklua. Go towards North Pattaya and after the roundabout look for a sign that points towards the water. Not much of a beach but it has big rocks and stuff to crawl around on so kind of interesting. Pattaya beach. The one everyone is familar with and leads them to think there are no nice beaches anywhere.
