I seem to always have the A332 flight for TPE to BKK leg. But the last 2 trips, they have accidentally double booked my seat on the BKK leg. So twice, the nice people at EVA have upped me into business after looking at my Delux boarding pass. I don't think there is very good communication between the computers in SFO and TPE. Well hopefully I will get bumped up again on my upcoming trip. Jerry, SFO to BKK purchased from EVA website for my trip in November was just $1070 but that was purchased in August. Yeah good idea to use a spray with DEET. The buggers are really active in the hours just before daylight. So a good idea to spray down before you go to sleep. I know it is annoying but besides Malaria there is Dengue Fever. The are preventive pills for Malaria but Dengue has no preventive so the spray is the best thing. My mate got Dengue two years ago in Bangkok and Samui has had a lot of cases in recent years so even though they have erradicated Malaria in most areas, Dengue can and does flare up. Be safe.

Chang Mai Guest Friendly Hotel

Stayed at the Porn Ping centrally located just off the night market. Guest friendly, I think I payed around 1000 baht last April. -
Stayed at the Swiss Park 3 years ago and it was not girl friendly at all. I think it was something like 500 baht joiner fee plus the place really is a dump. I would stick with the Majestic or the Dynasty. Up Soi Nana, across from the Grace Hotel and next to the Zenith is a small hotel called the Nana Inn. Nothing to special but clean rooms and for sure girl friendly and not too expensive. I think I paid less then 800 baht but that might have been a special deal. Good luck.

I book Evergreen delux SFO to BKK via EVA website for a trip in March and the price was something like $933. This was done on the 2nd of Feb. Maybe the price you are looking at was the unrestricted ticket. They will quote both prices on your query. My $933 far comes with certain restrictions. Give it another shot. Best of luck.
