  1. I am booked into the Sabai Resort in their Ruen Thai rooms for 50 USD a night at the end of May. Great price I think.
  2. I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite at the LK Metropole for a month. The room is nice. The location works. I am lazy so never made it to the pool. I really liked the balconies. All in all can't go wrong with the Metropole. This December I decided to go back to the Sabai Resort to stay in their Ruen Thai Paradise room. It is a nice room with a private pool that only the Ruen Thai Paradise guests (about 15-20 rooms) can use. The pool is located in the center of a private court yard, just steps from the front door of each of the rooms. The rooms are nice, but not as nice the Metropole. I think the pool makes up for it. You can get Ruen THai Paradise rooms at www.agoda.com for 80 bucks a night... I will echo the advice of another member: if you go with the Sabai Lodge-reserve a Sabai Wing room. I have stayed there and it is nicer/newer than the other parts of the hotel. Can't go wrong with either of the above. Good luck and enjoy! Bambu
  3. If the Sabai Wing is available, I would book a room there. I have never used Asia Rooms, but did use www.agoda.com to book the sabai resort 12/25-12/30 just a few days ago. It was actually cheaper booking the room with agoda...
  4. As it turns out, I was mistaken about the internet time validity. Contrary to what is written on the card, the time does NOT automatically expire 50 hours after first log in. I guess this is not the first time something was poorly written in English in Thailand . Sorry about the misinformation. Once I discovered that my time would nto automatically expire I decided to stay at the LK Metropole. Thanks for all the help! -Bambu
  5. Thanks for all the replies. After talking with management today and assuming we can't work something out. I will go check these other properties. Thanks again! Bambu
  6. Ben99, I intend to discuss this issue with them today. When I checked in I asked at the desk if I could purchase unlimited access, but they said that they only offer these cards now. As ridiculous as it seems, their pricing is 1000 Baht per two days. Outrageous to say the least… In Bangkok, I was staying at the Majestic Suites and they have the same deal, but you have 1 week to use 100 hours at 1000 Baht per week. That still pissed me off, but since I was only there for 10 days I just went with it. Given how long I am staying at this hotel the pricing is harder to swallow. Knortyboy, I am certain I am logging out. On the time tracker page there is a section entitled "Valid Till". To the right is the validity period for my remaining time (1 Day:20 Hours:59 Minutes:58 Seconds). The validity period is 2007-09-06 01:14:45. After this time, all of my remaining time will expire. In addition, on the 50 hour card it states: " This card is valid for internet access via 1 computer only. Unused connection time is not valid after 50 hours from the first time you log in. Given the above facts, I can only assume that my card will no longer work come September 6th @ 1:14 AM. If I wasn't so rearing to go after my 2 hour taxi ride maybe I would've taken a closer look at the details of the internet use contract. I will discuss options with the manager today. Hopefully, we will be able to work something out. However, given that I had to pay a month in advance I am a little worried about the outcome. Even though I am entitled to a prorated refund of my advance payment as per emails I have received from the hotel, I am a little leery of the whole situation. Wish me luck Bambu out
  7. I am currently staying at the LK Metropole, but will most likely leave because of pricing for the internet (1000 Baht for 50 hours- time expires 2 days after first log in). Does anyone know of any other nice 1 bedroom suites comparable to the LK Metropole? I am paying 48K a month here. I don't want to be in Jomtiem. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks, Bambu
  8. well, it looks like my internet access was not cut off after 50 hours after first log in as indicated on the card that I purchased. I apologzie for spreading misinformation. -Bambu
  9. I was also interested in renting a condo at Northshore for 2 months for my last trip to Thailand. I sent out several emails to rental managers handling a number of different furnished Northshore condos, but in all cases no one was willing to rent for such a short period of time. You may have better luck than I did. Bambu
  10. I have stayed at both and prefer Sabai Resort. The grounds are nicer and the location is better. Bambu
  11. American Airlines suck. I just find it amusing that even China Air placed and no US carriers did...Flying Thai Air's premium ecnomy class to BKK in a few weeks ;-) Should be nice.
  12. Thanks for the update Buddy Guy. Now if only someone would respond to my email at Jasmine City I would make my reservation -Bambu
  13. Evil, Thanks for the followup. I really hope they haven't changed their joiner policy. This serviced apartment has everything I am looking for (minus the price). I will most likely book here unless the joiner fee is confirmed else where for the long term apartments. I couldn't imgaine the hotel management objecting to guests for their long term guests Thanks again, Bambu
  14. Buddy_Guy, Thanks for pulling this information together It is very helpful. I guess the price I was quoted wasn't too far off fromt these prices. I will try for these prices. Thanks again! Evil, I was not able to find mention of JC's joiner fees on the site you linked, but I was wondering if this applies to the hotel suites or the apartment suites?? This would be a no go for me. I have read alot of good things about the SG, but the purpose of this trip is to prepare for a test (really!!) I will be taking in July. So I need a large space, with a study area, lots of light, and quiet. I think JC is ideal, but pricey (and its proximity to Soi Cowboy is a bonus!). Thanks again, Bambu
  15. Buddy_Guy, So I asked for the Na Na Pong rate and was quoted 62,597 Baht a month for a superior 1 bedroom suite. The website lists the same suite at 64,800 (apartment rate). This rate includes cleaning 6 times a week, plus unlimited water, and a set amount of electricity. I am wondering if this is discounted from the hotel rate for the suite (72,000 Baht) or did I not get a deal at all??
