I have used ptTaxi, http://www.pttaxiservice.com/ and normally email them on p.t.taxi@hotmail.com. I normally visit 2 or 3 times a year with a minimum of 2 people and maximum of 8. He has never let me down or been late in about 12 bookings. The last time I used him just over a week ago his driver called an hour before to confirm the time and location and turned up in a high end Toyota that was very new. He normally charges B1,000 or B1,600 for the minibus He always emails me back to confirm and to give me a contact number for an english speaking Thai, and even when I have booked severa

Having tried several agents and online sites to try and get a decent deal on flights from Scotland at Christmas was disappointed to find that all were in excess of £1,000. By chance I found out that from the EgyptAir website they had decent prices mid December, returning early Jan £550 from Amsterdam with a brief stoop in Cairo. The Easyjet from EDI to AMS was easily sourced...just in case anyone is looking for a festive bargain.

Hi Fireman Sam Have now upgraded your flight using the airmiles. For other member, was very easy to do, once the original booking has been made just a quick call to upgrade using my miles. Have a nice trip Dawson

Have searched the net, comments range from...cannot transfer..to there should be no problem upgrading an existing booking as a gift. Looking at the Skywards sites, you can upgrade from cattle class to Business class Glagow/LHR to Dubai, business class for 25,000 miles or 32,500 from Dubai to BKK. An earlier post on these types of airmiles confirmed that they had succesfully allocated the upgrade to an existing booking. Hi Vid. yeah flag is correct, but am already booked for Pattaya on 6th Oct with Thai air. Unlikely I will be able to use the miles before they expire as am already booked for Florida at the beginning of next year. I had read in an earlier post that someone had managed to use their miles to upgrade another BM up to business class. Wondered if this was a cost effective way to use them? Dawson

Is there a good dental clinic in Pattaya?
DawsonUK replied to poirierp's topic in Doctors, Dentists, Clinics and Hospitals
Have to agree with Wig & Pizzle, have used Dr Aree several times now, definately the most caring and professional dentist I have ever been to. A root canal performed privatly here in the UK, costing £400, would have just cost about £80 there, and she checked it and asked why UK dentist had only worked on 2 of the roots. Very professional lady. Located at Pattaya International Hospital, Soi 4, 2nd rd end. Very close to Big C. Dr Aree can be contacted by email at picpih@loxinfo.co.th She even sings to you whilst working. -
Last Christmas I stayed at the Aiyaree Hotel, is fairly new and just beside the Monkey statue, very handy for Bars, Baht bus and restaurants....a good five minute walk to the beach..if you dont stop for a few beers en-route. Breakfast was included, pool was nice to look at, but not heated, rooms were large with fridge/freezer and upmarket bathrooms. I would stay there again, sometimes it is nice to be just out of the middle of it all. I did go with my family, however I would reckon it was guest friendly.

I have 35,800 Emirates Skywards miles if they are of any use

My two faourites are both on third road right next to each other, Mamaroi and Hartien, as always you can go on a bad night, but in general they both provide good quality and fair prices. Combine it with an hour or two at the Karaoke next door!

Have to agree with Rascal. Have stayed at the Dusit several times over the years and like it as a base to tour from. Like the others mention the pools are great. The rooms much better than the Marriot (which cannot be beaten for location)..the Sheraton for me...is just too awkward to get too and from. The Dusit has recently re-opened the Chinese restaurant (Peak) and is renovating other rooms...or they were last April. The noise....very distant.....was only after 9am and finished in the afternoon. I did stay in the room one day (ill) and the noise wasnt a problem, but I suppose it depends wher

Im visiting with the family in October and need to get 11 people from Bangkok to Pattaya. I normally use Image limos, but they recommend a minibus and a car to carry 11 pax. I would rather hire one of the larger buses, about a 20 seater. Does anyone have any contacts? Quality/Air Con is important, as it is for a few...older folks.

Bringing an 80 year old lady to thailand
DawsonUK replied to deanjames's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Sure they will love it. I bring my parents out twice a year, Dad 80 Mother ...not quite so old....they love it with a passion, although they do spend over 80% of their time at the Royal Cliff. They need me for help getting there and we meet up a couple of times for dinner...apart from that, I spend most of my time in central pattaya. Worst thing for my father is the uneven pavements....but what the hell...get a baht bus, even if it's just for 200 yards. -
My brother, who works in Pattaya, and myself, a twice a year visitor, are considering some land purchase and residential house self builds. Part for development and part for self use. Have any of you out there done the same? Would love to hear about your thoughts. Please note, there is no TG involved. Last year I found a link to pages of a guy who was doing a house build in Thailand, included many pictures and commented on the potential pitfalls, unfortunately I cant seem to find it again...was it any of you? All help and comments appreciated

We stayed here Feb 04....my brother had different TG every night and as long as he booked them in there was no problems. No Fees...No humiliation....No Hassle...just a bit of light banter with the security guys. Getting them to leave ID offered some element of anti rip off protection. Hotel has perfect location for nipping in and out with beautiful pool and grounds. Regards DawsonUK

Back in Pattaya in October, although I have been a few times before I have never looked to see if they sell the latest football strips. Not that I would know the latest...if it smacked me in the face. Anyway..a relative has asked if I can bring him back a strip, so just wanted to see if they sold this years strips out there and also where was the best place to go.

If I remember rightly it was sweet and sour chicken and noodles and another non spicey dish, table service but no choice of menu. Most people I spoke to said the food was exceptional, given the price, and I would tend to agree with them.

Been to the Tiger Zoo a couple of times, usual cost about 500 Bht if you want to include lunch or dinner (recommended) they usually can arrange to collect you from your hotel for either a morning or afternoon trip. Takes about 30 - 40 minutes by taxi and the driver guides you round the Zoo. You get chance to hold tiger cubs and both my kids and GF loved it. They also have an Elephant show, Crocodile show and a monkey show. We thoroughly enjoyed it then came back to relax by pool in the afternoon. The Thai people, in general, will make your first trip one that you will always remember
