I travelled within Europe with Airfrance, Lufthansa, SAS and Brittish Airways and I think they are pretty much in the same league. But I am rather short, 171 cm, so I usually dont have a problem with seats.

Mobile phones and SMS in Thailand

With One2call you can make international calls. Not exactly dirtcheap but its no problem. I think you have to call their callcenter to make them change everything to english but thats no problem. -
I stayed 5 times at Majestic this year and have used my credit card all times without a problem so I dont think that hotel is a problem. As for the machine you use to "skim" the cards its so small you can palm it and if you have a talent for sleight of hand you can do it open without anyone noticing.

Ray W It aint that simple What if a theocraty is the will of the people? Besides a religion doesnt have to be part of the ruling body since a believer probably will try and follow the principles of his religion most of the time not only in church, during cermony etc. An example would be John Aschroft in USA whos party isnt explicity christian per se (as opposed to for instance Christian Party). Yet its clear that christian values is quite high in his agenda.

Papa Atheism is just that atheism. Just like theists you will find that some are right wind, some are left wing and some are not interested in politics at all. I personally would consider a atheist marxist to have a good view of the first issue but not on the second. ;D

Paul C Well actually a religion free world would probably not be, forgive me the expression, heaven. But it would certainly be a step in the right direction.

PaulC Buddhism is certainly more pleasent in many ways then other religions, I was only pointing out that it indeed have darker sides as well, where other religions take a much better stand. Another example would be that Buddhism does not emphazise the importance of telling the truth the same way as most people from the pseudo christian world are used to (thats us falangs). Those two examples are still not as bad as killing someone but they are not good are they? Just because something isnt "as bad as xxxx" doesnt make it right or justified. As for religion once should not

In some ways Buddhism are actually worse then other religions. For instance its silent approval of a pretty much non equal society.

Religion might not be the cause per se, but far too often it provides its believers with the moral arguments and justification that is needed. A great example of this would actually be the Crusades which were pretty much about power and money. But the religion issued a carte blanche that no other substitute could have made. It should also be noted that religion as opposed to philosofy by its very nature is based upon tradition and therefor not always reliable when taken out of its historical context. For example in the bible you can find Paul stating that the jews "displease God and oppose

Had a strange experience yesterday: went out looking for a box of cigarettes (with 10 packs). My friend from back home called me and asked me to buy it for him if I coould find it cheap so I brought the girl and went out looking. I went into a small liquor store and asked what he charged for a box, or the girl asked rather, and she was told he buy them from a shop a block away so if we go there we probably could get a better prize. Never seen that before. Maybe I should bring the girl to shopping more often)

Personally I like Majestic Suites. A little bit more expensive then Nana or Dynasti but rooms are newer and the bathroom are much nicer (which is the main reason for me to chose this place)

I know some ATMs doesnt accept foreign cards but most do (like echster says 99%). As long as it has the VISA/Mastercard etc logo you should be ok. But last year I got a shock in MBK when I couldnt use my card before I realized what had happened. I never use TC but I bring some cash and both ATM and credit card. If something happens to my credit card I can get a new one within 48 hours for just 15USD. I think that American Express etc have this service also. I dont think using a ATM will cause any problem unless you run into a nigerian loop (which would seem highly unlikely in Thailand). Ho
