Interesting video of the new beach road front pattaya
MM replied to duncmc's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
If he is correcting you to say "P'tie/ah", then he is wrong. The correct way is pa-tuh-YAA with the emphasis on the last syllable. Well, at least that's the way the Thais say it. -
Renting a car in the USA with a foreign license, no Intl Drv Lic

I need to correct something here. I normally rent from Enterprise, but I opted for Avis this time because United offered a deal on a fly/drive package. So...the rental was from AVIS, not Enterprise. I doubt it would make much difference who you rent from, but then again...? See correction above. -
Is mourning for Supreme Patriarch affecting Pattaya?
MM replied to ktappinen's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
Given the complete lack of police activity since the first day of the mourning period, I think you're right about Halloween being business as usual...the last 3 nights, everyone closed when they wanted to...a normal night. Music was shut after 3am or so...and the Arab quarter was eerily (and thankfully) quiet. Re Loy Krathong, the government has come out and said that Loy Krathong will proceed as usual and TAT jumped the gun. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/local/376938/loy-krathong-gets-go-ahead-from-govt -
Not all do. Air Canada cancelled theirs (expiry date). American constantly extends the expiry 18 months each time you have almost any kind of activity so unless you go to ground, they never expire either. With United miles, I have a VISA card that awards miles for every dollar spent. As long as your miles account is active, the miles don't expire.I maintain my miles account by making all my credit card purchases on that card. Tapatalk

Sorry for not following up. Enterprise had no problem with my Thai license, but the clerk cautioned me that I might have trouble with the police in a vehicular stop.I just drove carefully to avoid finding out what would happen in that case. Bottom line, renting no problem. Tapatalk -

Really need advice about my lady in pattaya
MM replied to mymads's topic in General Discussion about Pattaya
mymads, You have to understand that you met this lady.(prostitute) in a late night disco. You agreed to pay her money and she went to have sex with you. That is what she does. You spent 3 nights with her and want to continue the "relationship" by skype and facebook. She has a good phone and computer, so it's clear this is part of her "work" as well. You are just one guy who spent a very short time with her...there were many before you, and there are likely to be many after you, and once you were gone, she will continue to do what she was doing when she met you. This doesn't sound like anything other than her feeding your weak and needy ego. It is what a good player does in this game. You probably will get requests for money at some point, if you haven't already. The best thing to do is forget about it, and see it for what it was....a short time spent with a lady who acted like she cared for you and made you feel good about yourself. Don't go so far as to believe that was real. It wasn't. -

It's going to cause confusion about when to celebrate Loy Krathong. What's being postponed are the "official" Loy Krathong events...I can't recall ever going to an "official" event. As long as they allow the vendors to sell krathongs, and the ladies to dress up, there should be the peoples' event on the 17th as planned. -

Guys, don't be so cynical and quick to judge. The poster is actually posting from Istanbul, Turkey, so this might just be a case of a cultural gap, and a serious case of naivete. Let's respond as if the questioner is serious about these issues. It can't hurt, can it? -

That's no "girl". As for the early closing and mourning etc... No sign of early closures last night on Walking Street. -

Apart from Pattaya, where would you choose to live ...

bratpack, you're an odd duck. From mobile phone. -
As Evil pointed out, it might have been the difference in cooks. Perhaps avoid Thursdays and go on whatever day Evil P went.

Police came by just after 2am and closed all the gogos and bars, including Infomnia and Ibar. After 3am, this is what the bar across the street from FLB looked like...and JP Bar was packed early last night. Note that there is no restriction on alcohol sales, only music and joyful behavior -
At 500 EUR for 13000 miles, they are valuing the miles at 5.5 cents (USD) per mile. Back to grandpollo's post, the miles have value..from 2.5 cents to 5.5 cents each. Giving you miles is like giving you money. Why would anyone who doesn't know you do that? From mobile phone.

I'd guess no one understood what you meant. -
Yes, of course. The question I asked was how much were the miles worth on the "market" that buys and sells miles. As I recall, there is (or used to be such a thing), and the miles were valued in pennies (USD) per mile. For example, Grandpollo valued the 12000 miles at $0.025 per mile, which is rather reasonable...giving a value of $300 USD.

I went to Sue's with Beerbelly and had the 2 chicken enchiladas including sour cream. I agree on the rice and beans...I didn't really like them that much. The chicken was more dry than I liked. I did like that they included 2 salsas without my requesting it. When the bill came, they had added on sour cream at 40b. I pointed out that the menu said the dish came with sour cream, and they removed the charge. They probably charged me because I had specifically asked if the dish came with sour cream...so they took that as me ordering sour cream. All in all, I prefer Mike's Mexican better...still haven't been to Tequila Reef...they are next. Here's the meal...yes, there were 2 chicken enchiladas under that covering of cheese and stuff. To me, it wasn't a very appetizing presentation.

Where do you find the price per mile? Is there some exchange where they can be bought and sold? From mobile phone.
