Next time seeker - there will be more Yes and it will be BIG. There will be a day-time and night-time cruise and special Aussie fare. Time permitting there will be barbaqueues fitted to the rear platform and we'll "throw a few shrimps on the barbie". We should also have stocks of VB and Crown on board plus a few other items I'll announce next week (Australia Day for those not from down-under is January 26th) Cheers 2SS : -
As a promotional trip I am offering up to 5 places on a cruise to "kick the tyres" of my new business - Pattaya Party Boat The cruise will be a night-time cruise leaving Bali Hi pier at 8pm on Wednesday January 13th. You must be at the boat no later than 7:45pm. The plan is for 4 or 5 hours of fun and frolicking with both western and Thai food, FREE BEER, a selection of ladies, an onboard sound and karaoke system and maybe (conditions permitting) the chance to get some live squid. We aim to return to the pier around 1am depending on the mood on board. If you want to come please understand that we may extend the cruise if the girls and participants have as much fun as they did on the daytime trial. If you wish to be considered for this we will require a 500 Baht deposit prior to the cruise which I will refund in full after we depart. No show - no refund. You can contact me for details on 08 5389 7055 (10am - 10pm Pattaya time) or email me at ken@pattayapartyboat.com In the event of more requests than required a draw will be held for the lucky winners. We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who we deem unsuitable or a risk to passenger safety and as with any boat passengers must agree to follow the directions of the boat's captain at all times. Cheers 2SS : Some pictures of the boat and from last time:

Stayed there on a few occasions and it's a good place generally. Only problem I ever had was the wifi. There are 2 levels of accommodation and you need to check the prices as there was a hike over the Xmas / New Year period. The rooms are more than adequate and the suites will impress any BF you have for the night. You will NEVER get locked out as reception is manned 24/7 and the only problem with transport is not getting killed when crossing the road. You can walk to 2nd road, and then to Walking Street in about 10 - 15 minutes comfortably - by walking (I just cant agree with the boonies comment). Song Taews (baht busses) from Soi Marine or 2nd road will get you there in under 5 minutes. There is even parking if you have a car but be warned the neaby intersection of 3rd road and Jomtien Road (under the fly-over) is VERY dangerous. Lots of places to eat within walking distance and you can also get a baht bus to Jomtien from outside the front of the hotel. Cheers 2SS :

The link is going to the OLD (current) site and I just got the drafts for the new one today. It will save me altering things on this thread when the site is changed. The media stuf is already in the pipeline and there will be a few promotional days in the next month or so. Thanks for all the kind wishes and hope to see you all aboard admiral_ken aka 2SS : -
I can certainly recommend Mr T. Used them about 6 or 7 times over the last 6 months and will be using them again next week. Cost is 1200B Pattaya -> BKK and 1000B BKK -> Pattaya. Includes toll fares and the cars and drivers are excellent. A metered taxi will set you back 1500B (no negotiation) and you will need to get in line and hope for he best .... did it once and NEVER again. Ring Mr T a few days before you arrive and the driver will meet you at the meeting point near exit 3 holding a sign with your name. No hassles and just what you'll need after a long flight. Explain your destination to Mr T when you call and you wont even have to say a word. If you feel like a refreshment on the way to Pattaya you can pre-arrange or the drivers will ask you if youu want to stop for something about 20 mins into the trip. You'll have to pay extra for this of course Cheers : 2SS

As some of the chat members are aware I have been negotiating with the owner of "Edina" - the boat that FLB has used in the past for cruises. We have had the boat refurbished and she is now back in the water ready for some fun and adventure on the high seas. We are offering some of the old formats and a few new ones as well. The website is currently being revamped and a new website should appear over the next week. We would like to ramp up the new services and will be maintaing the current price structure for FLB members into the new year. - Fancy some fishing? - A day out relaxing? - Party the way that Pattaya is famous for. - Catering and drinks available on request - a Thai and Falang menu will be available. - Day or night cruises. - Multi-day cruises for romance, relaxation or the ultimate in privacy. - Make a wish and we'll help you make it come true Click here to visit the website or contact ken@pattayapartyboat.com Cum on board for the time of your life : 2SS

We went out on Oct 8th and there is one scanning area after passport control and only a quick manual hand luggage check before entering the gate area. There was no second scanning area. (Flight was to Oz with Thai) Contrary to what the "know it alls" say I observed no additional delay and the system is FAR better than the old schmozzle that nearly caused me to miss a flight on one occasion due to over zealous security. All in all, a good change. Cheers 2SS

Go to tukcom.com (ask any bar girl to take you) and you'll find an enormous range. Let her do the negotiation and look after her with a tip and you'll get great price. : 2SS

Billy, I got your PM but thought Id reply here so others may benefit (or mock me) You noted that your main interest was in access to other areas ..... Actually I suffered an injury while over there so walking was not an option. If you're reasonably fit getting to Walking St would be no worries. Id estimate about 15 mins walk (maybe less) to Walking St. I suggested it to the TGF but she wouldn't hear of it, said "too far". I think she thought I wouldnt make it due to the illness. Our alternative was a Baht Bus to around Soi 15 / 2nd road (B10) and we never had to wait any more than 2 minutes at any time of the day. For longer trips (eg I needed to go to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital daily) fares were between B150 and B250 depending on the mood of the taxi driver. B200 was the most common and the average. Again the wait was never more than 5 mins for this and we only had one refusal. On 2 different occasions they threw their passengers out and took us! (I did feel bad abou that) Crossing the road was a snack (but remember I'm from Oz and we drive on the same side of the road). Crossing any road in Thailand is fraught with danger :-) In that situation you suffer a double whammy: you're a foreigner and have no right to be there and you're on the road and (drivers will consider that) you have no right to be there. As for busy I wouldn't consider the traffic busy at all and I heard no construction noises during my stay. There was some construction about 2-300m up the road but I never even thought about it until writing this. You're far eough back from the road in the rooms to not worry about noise. I'll post some pics if I can figure out why it wont let me : 2SS -

Stayed there a week or so ago and found the hotel and it's service good. If you need internet from the hotel but FORGET IT. It worked initially and then stopped altogether. After being told that it was my fault numerous time they finally fessed up that they had been having some problems with one (or more) of their repeaters over a period of at least 3 months. They made many promises to do something but nothing ever happened. Their final suggestion was that I come down to the lobby to use the internet every time I needed it. Needless to say I wont be staying there again. If you dont require internet, the place is great and the buffet dinner is top notch. I'd go back again for the buffet but not to stay. : 2SS
