  1. As I said, I was not charged a joiner fee. A friend stayed there in the past week and to my knowledge, he was not charged a joiner fee. So I guess until I hear otherwise, I will call the place guest friendly.
  2. I stayed one night here: Tim Royal Residence on a small soi off of Second Road between Tim Beer Bar and Planet Food 50 meters from Second road, but no sign on for the hotel on Second Road if on Second Road, turn right just past Tim Beer Bar, if you get to the Diana Hotel, you have gone too far. Tel: 038 724054 website: http://www.timroyalresidence.com email: reservation@timroyalresidence.com High season rates listed at 2500, 3000 and 4000 for Superior, Deluxe or Suite. Low season price quoted to me walking in was 1500 for Superior room. I do not know when the low season end and high season begins, but I made a tentative booking for September, just in case I come back, and I was given the low season rate. The rooms are very nice, the nicest I have stayed in Pattaya. Brand new. I would compare them to the furnishings of the Swiss Grottino in Bangkok, but the room at Tim Residence is much larger than the Grottino. Huge bed, at least 6 feet wide. In-room safe. My room has shower and a jacuzzi tub. Very quiet A/C. The top floor has a beautiful swimming pool that no one was using when I was there. A bar up there too! Breakfast is included, not a buffet but a selection of items from the menu. Good, especially the coffee. The whole feel of the hotel is very, very nice and new. Staff is friendly and very polite. Internet is wireless in the room if you have your own computer and it is pretty fast, 30 minutes free and then 1 baht per minute in 30 minute increments. You can log on and log off easily in order to conserve your time you are paying for. Room key is a keycard. I recommend this place if you have a couple of hundred extra baht per day in your budget. Quite pleasant to come back to a bed that doesn't feel like thousands of people have fucked on it... a rarity in Pattaya, I think. Girl friendliness ------------------ I stayed here just for one night (moved from the Diana) and I did not read this thread prior to staying there. I probably wouldn't have stayed if I thought it was not guest-friendly. However, my experience is that, for me, it was girl-friendly, I brought in a girl at 1:00am and they took her ID card. They did not charge me any fee for a guest when I checked out in the morning. Maybe they forgot to charge or maybe they are not charging or maybe ... who knows. Another guy I know (not sure he posts here) checked in there tonight. He will have a girl for sure so we'll see.
  3. cowboy, do you have a URL or a promo code for this promotion?
  4. You can also flag down a taxi in Bangkok (look for a new one) and ask him to take you to Pattaya on the meter. Took me only two tries to find one who would go. Meter was around 950, I paid the tolls. In front of a bigger hotel where there are taxis waiting might be your best bet.
