The Hell Club Experience
bifcake replied to Evil Penevil's topic in Bars/Gogos/Business Owners' Forum
Why do you guys get so uppety when it comes to discussions about the Hell/Eden clubs? If you think they're overpriced, then you don't have to frequent them. If you think you can find a better deal elsewhere, then why not let everyone else know where you can get comparable service at a better price? If you don't care to read the threads, then why not just ignore them? I can understand you guys getting upset if the Hell/Eden proprietors were crooks. However, I haven't seen a single post even from the harshest critics that this is the case. Why not just live and let live? -

Cerberus, I've been following your replies on various topics and you handling members attacking you. From what I've seen, you guys seem to be on the up and up. Even though I've never visited either Eden or Hell clubs, judging by the way you handle yourself on these boards, I think I would feel pretty comfortable patronizing your establishment. Some claim that you guys are too expensive and that similar services can be had for considerably less in other places. Whereas that may (or may not) be so, I feel that as long as you don't misrepresent what you offer or try to cheat your patr -

Seems to me that Eden/Hell clubs are so famous that any kind of a search on Google leads to a discussion of the Hell/Eden club. As such, is there any point in advertising to an audience that's well aware of its existence and services? It seemed like the original post was made by perhaps a somewhat overenthusiastic patron. -

What do the girls look like? Do you have any pictures? Is there a web site of the Hell/Eden clubs that features photos of their staff? -
You're in Thailand! Why would you need to browse a porn site? Although, the cloak will work for that too.

Hi, Thanks for the link. I checked out the router and whereas it offers a dual WAN connection, it does not double the effective bandwidth. What it does is double the bandwidth capacity. What I mean is this: Suppose you hook up this router to two 512k internet lines. Its load balancing features will not allow you to double your speed to 1mb. In other words, if you're downloading a file, your download speed will still be limited to 512k. What this router will do is allow you to download an additional file at a full 512k speed, rather than share a single 512k connection when downloa

Would you mind posting a link to your router? I can't find one with these features at the price. Thanks

Hi, A $70 router will not have the capabilities of handling multiple WAN connections. Furthermore, the other issues that I mentioned still have to be addressed like whether or not the different providers will have the same gateway to the Internet, etc. In any event, as I mentioned earlier, the setup of such a connection is not impossible, but it's not trivial for someone not well versed in data communications. Seems like the saga continues. More videos on Youtube

It's the same principle. As long as you're going through a proxy that sits outside of Thailand, you should have no problems accessing youtube. Have any of you guys tried accessing youtube directly? Is it blocked like the BBC report suggests?
-
Seems as though Thailand has blocked youtube access according to the BBC http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6528303.stm For those of you in Thailand requiring youtube, I suggest using the following service: http://www.the-cloak.com/ The cloak serves as a proxy for your browsing, so as far as Thai ISP is concerned, you're never leaving the cloak site no matter where you actually surf. This will allow you to watch your youtube videos while in Thailand. Best of all, it's free for what you need it to do.

There may be a few issues with that. 1) Is there more than one company offering DSL services? 2) Even if there are more than a single provider, their connection to the Internet may be the same. 3) Having two separate connections with two different providers does not double your bandwidth. It simply gives you a back up. 4) Since you're talking about a mission critical application, you need some serious equipment to be able to switch seamlessly when one connection goes down. You also need some serious computer knowledge (actually you need data communications knowledge) to set

Do any of you guys work to supplement your income? If so, what do you do? Do you have a little business going or do you guys just hang out and get drunk all the time?
-
How much do you guys budget for utilities? Are utilities included in the rental price? What about phone service? Thanks
-
Thanks everyone. I appreciate your help and candor. Would you recommend Bangkok, Pattaya or Jomtien Beach as the most affordable setting? Thanks again.
-
Why do you guys even concern yourselves about exchanging cash or carrying traveler's cheques? Why don't you simply use your ATM card?
-
Thanks. What kind of a lifestyle would I be living at around 45,000-50,0000 baht/month?

Hi, I was wondering how much money per year one would need to live in relative comfort in Thailand. By relative comfort I mean: 1) 2 bedroom apartment 2) TV with satellite 3) Broadband Internet 4) Being able to go out to eat a few times a week 5) Sustaining two people 6) Being able to afford a taxi meter on regular basis (I'm not planning on getting a car) 7) Having a housekeeper come in once or twice a week to clean up the place 8) Renewing a visa and making all the necessary monetary donations to help make things happen. 9) Clothing, food, phone, electric bills, etc. 10
