  1. use travel supermarket to compare prices. etihad usually available from 429.90 you can get jan for 434.00
  2. i booked via westeast travel and choose my seat from those available on the eva website
  3. stayed in the Ao prao resort, but it was nearly 10k per night. also stopped in another place can not remember what it was called, it was the cheapest place i could find and it was still 3k per night. that was last july and everywhere was full. i don't think you'll get anywhere around 1k.
  4. i hired a car and travelled all around that area. from what i remeber it took less than two hours from phuket to krabi. if you do actually stop in krabi and not outside, there is a good hotel called the krabi river hotel around about 800 per night. its only small but really clean and friendly. just about 100 yards away is a night food area, loads of locals and really good food ( very cheap ). The hotel will organise everything for you (including boat trips and diving). whilst in phuket i stopped in the siam palm hotel, again very small and friendly, the best showers i have ever used.
  5. been on the tg917 twice in the last four months and it has never stopped anywhere en route
  6. Ao Prao Resort -stayed there in July, superb, had a bungalow right at the end of the beach, get the Thai girl to book it, you'll get a good discount (from 7000 to around 4400 per night) You'll also notice the food and drink there is expensive.
  7. was ging to check these out, but i don't particulary want to hear to blokes going at it in the room next door. Don't mind the occasional scream or two from some young fit thai bird. not sure if i would rather have the rag heads or the poofs !!!
  8. My first post! Booked flights for July, first time inThailand. Spent quite a while reading the posts and have noticed in general people do not recommend using their credit card to book accomodation. Also noticed alot of people recommending the Lek hotel. Has any booked through www.asiatravel.com ? Don't know whether to book now for the Lek using CC or wait until I arrive and hope there is a room available? Anyone with experiene of doing this, did everything go to plan?
