SEA ME SPRING TOO...........A REVIEW
thai style replied to Rickster59's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Hi There, Thanks for the review. Very helpful! Does it include breakfast and by 'no joiner fees' do you mean, no extra charge for bringing a lady back? I haven't been to Pattaya for a while and have lost track of the terms used Also is there gym? Regards Jules -
Areca Lodge girl-friendly?
thai style replied to Steffe's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
The Areca is still girl friendly, 1 lady no charge, however if you bring back 2 ladies then they will charge you 300b for the 2nd guest. I stayed there last oct & still great staff with no attitude. I'm booked into the new extension 'evergreen towers' in June and can't wait. -
I was wondering the same thing...otherwise it would be a fairly long walk from the soi dianna entrance all the way back, you'd almost need a baht bus to get you there I consider the Areca the best hotel i have stayed but its starting to show its age, perhaps the newly built & furnished evergreen towers are the answer. Any ideas as to when they open? Keen to hear what it's like!

Hi guys I'm hoping some one can tell me if this hotel charges a joiner fee because an extra 1000b will just piss me off. I usually stay at Areca which ticks all the boxes but am looking forward to trying a different hotel. Mixed reports on Baron Beach hotel charging, can someone clear this up? Thanks in advance.

Thanks to all those that replied. Think i should have posted in the hotel section but now know for next time. Peace

I'm reasonably fit and have great respect for mui thai style. I'd like to do some training (not fighting)somewhere close to central pattaya. Can anyone recommend a place?

reasonable hotel 4 newbie
thai style replied to inkyskin's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Thanks woodyamsterdam, the plus's seem to outweigh the neg's however come 10.05am and i'm blurry eyed and with an equally hungry girl tagging behind as we find the the buffet closed I may be cursing a bit On that matter, can you suggest a great place for breakfast in that general facinity? -

This question is mostly aimed at woodyamsterdam as you seem to be a big fan of areca...i've booked the delux pool view room wonder if the rooms overlooking the main pool are better than the second pool? I understand the rooms over the second pool have to wake up to chickens early in the morning. Can you rec' a particular room to reserve? Any other tips to make my stay more enjoyable? cheers -

sunshine vista is cheap, roof top pool and bar, near mikes shopping plaza and very guest friendly, hell the security guard even rates the girl on your arm with a wink & nod...just for a bit of variation i'm trying areca my next trip though. -
For sure, when you book your hotel they offer you the pickup service by simply ticking a box and giving them your flight details. It costs 1400B which seems reasonable to me www.res24.com. I doubt they offer it if your not booking accomadation though, cheers

just an update, ive booked a taxi for 1400 taking me from airport to pattaya 1400 through res24 which will leave roughly 11.30pm, so if anyone wants to go halves then let us know.

Hey, Im heading to pattaya on the 10th oct and am keen to share the taxi cost to pattaya. My flight from AUS gets in @ 10.40pm, which after going through cutoms, collecting luggage ect i'd probably be ready to go by 11.20, hope this suit someone?

Sunshine Vista Serviced Apartments
thai style replied to stevoman's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I'm all for staying a the S-vista but would appreciate if anyone would tell me if the studio room is worth the extra baht? cheers -
The website looks interesting but doesn't give much detail. Have performed the applicable searchs resulting in 1 favourable review (dated early 2004). I thought i'd throw it up to the combined knowledge the board, as It's located just off walking street so I figure many of you would have noticed or perhaps stayed there. Usual questions GF ect... cheers.

Just received an email from sunshine vista staff and was assured that external work will be completed, however interior work will still be ongoing.

Thanks for the link cyber, - was wondering which room type you'd recommend? The studio/executive studios look great! Heading in Oct and am concerned about construction noise during that time, any forecasts? Baht bus access? Cheers thai

I'm in the same boat martini, lodge or house? Seems the house is even closer to the action and less personal at reception which gets my nod of approval. keen to find out more about the suite though, look forward to hearing big phils review!

Making reservation online
thai style replied to pierrak's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Those hotels that dont require cc details may not offer you the advertised discount though, get an email confirming the agreed price and then show them when you roll up. -
Just received a reply from the good people of Areca Lodge stating that they are fully booked between 10-24 oct which throws a spanner in the works, as i'm once again deciding where to stay. Plan B was either the sandy spring hotel or residence garden or perhaps Mamaisons. Any suggestions?
