Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

  1. I was planning to book on line after checking many booking agency (ex. asia rooms.com etc) but all hotels in ideal locations for me were fairly expensive starting Nov 1st--as stated earlier. I am fine with just showing up and finding a place (remember though -new to LOS), I will need recommendations on which places to check upon arrival. If U have a particular hotels you can think of in the 400-500b range (1/3 of 1000-1200b) for me to try(walk in price), please let me know. Also please suggest alternatives in case original recommendations are full (it is the high season). Thanks all. PT
  2. Phuket is very expensive in Nov. I did a search and found most places in Phuket almost double and some even triple their prices starting Nov 1st--high season. I will be visiting for 1st time in LOS and need friendly info on any cheap accommodations in Phuket . Travelling thru out Thailand so on a budget to save as much as possible for "some fun". Many have already helped me sort out cheaper places in Pattaya and like the same help here for Phuket. Requirements are simple: clean decent and guest friendly places with private bathrooms close to the "action area", Guest houses are fine, but no dorms or shared baths etc. e-mail and website contacts for advance booking appreciated, but if not available, since I never been to Phuket, let me know address and how to locate place upon arrival. Once again , great forum and great info. Thanks PT
  3. Please let me know if places on Soi Buakhow increase (perhaps double ) their prices during Nov (high season) like most places in Pattaya or are these their year long prices? Im also assuming these places are guest friendly. Also, wish to have a/c in room but not sure offered at these prices. Will appreciate if have Any e-mail or website contacts for advance booking. Thanks and cheers. PT
  4. Any idea if these 233b/nite places will still offer these prices in mid Nov (high season)? Im assuming these places are walk-in prices , but if anyone have website or email for booking in advance, please let me know. Id like to book in advance so have place to stay upon arrival since Ive never been to Pattaya before. Im also assuming all places in this area are guest friendly. Also, Please let me know if these cheaper places are fan rooms or a/c? Like I said, I will be there mid Nov. Thanks all. PT
  5. I read somewhere that Sawadee hotel chains are not guest friendly--dont know if this is true?
  6. Thanks for the input on cheap Pattaya places to stay. I will now consider booking 1 nite at Apex --then wander around a bit to places you guys advised. If still cant find anything worthwhile, will just stay at Apex.
  7. Didnt know what was meant by Miami hotel so did a search and what came back was "slum hotel"---not what I had in mind. One of the requirements was "Need a decent place" , and I dont think slum area fits into this.--but nice try though. Any other recommendations?
  8. Also saw post recommended Sky Top Lodge (around soi6)=500b and Timberbarbeer (near soi13)=550b Both seem about same price range Any feedback as to which is a better accommodation (in terms of size of small room ,quality of small room and location )
  9. Thanks Bro, I did do search here and other forums and most bros had suggested not going to Apex--said it had big sign at entrance "must pay joiner fee--I think it was 200-300b. Dont know if this policy was enforced or not but some said not to take the chance. Price for high season + joiner fee= about 900b . If the joiner fee is almost half the cost of a room, then this is not in the budget range for what I had in mind.(the fun stuff I mentioned earlier involves a joiner). Like I said, all this is just from what others have posted, so if joiner fee policy is not a problem, then I would consider Apex. Let me know PT
  10. Never been to Pattaya, so bear with me. If I had to do the walk-about to find the ideal bargain place to stay, what is your advice as to where to begin?--Pattaya is not a big place but its not small either so I could probably spend hours walking down the wrong streets. Also bear in mind that I will be arriving in Pattaya around 7pm (when its started to get dark) so appreciate what is best starting point for best outcome. As I will have some luggage, where is best place to put them as I seek my accommodations? ex. start at soi1, soi6, walking st et Also, any info on BKK, Phuket and Chiang Mai also appreciated (budget range of course). I did notice that trying to book a place in Phuket for under 800b-1000b during Nov was nearly impossible Note: I will not have long stay discounts as I will only be at each cities about 3-4 days at most (like I said--its my 1st time recon mission to LOS-so like to sample the various places) Cheers and Thanks all. PT
  11. Hi everyone,I will be a newbie in LOS in Nov, been reading up on post but havent seen too many recommendations for places from 400-500b range during the high season (I will be in Thailand mid Nov-=and saw almost everything double in price during this time). I am on a budget since its my 1st time in LOS and wish to see as much as possible, but wish to save the money for the truly important "fun stuff"- Only require place to be clean, private bathrooms(ex. not the dorm style shared toilets), a/c if offered, and guest friendly (and close to action if possible). Note: I left this as an open forum and not limited to just Pattaya. Since I Will also be visiting Bangkok, Puket and Chiang Mai so any recommendations for any of the above places will be greatly appreciated also. This will be my first"scouting run" so if all goes well here in LOS, I'll be back. Thanks for the help. PT
