LA FONTAINE, your appartment in Pattaya
DocDuei replied to lichtsy's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I live next door to La Fontaine but know many people who live there. Great location and good prices. Mostly french guys. They have some nice apartments way in the back which are very quiet at night. it's full most of the time so don't just show up expecting a room or apt. -
I tried Mr Dream last month when i can in from los Angeles. Contacted him by Email and got a prompt reply. BUT when I arrived in Bangkok there was no one there. Looked for the driver and/or sign for about 30 min. Finally gave up and caught a taxi to Pattaya. Emailed Mr. Dream about it. Never had a reply from him at all.

I have the Hutch wireless service at my apartment on Walking Street. It is much better than I could ever get with the lousy phone wires in my building. Had it for a little over a year. Works great and has only been down once but that lasted almost 3 weeks. Now currently in the U.S. so can't remember the speeds but it is very satisfactory for browsing sites both in Thailand and abroad. Not very fast for downloads though. After the first year you can switch to the monthly billing and can cancel any time.l

Just what Pattaya needs. Another pussy

I rent an Apt. year round at the Windy Inn. Great place. The Clair de Lune is owned by the same french man and mostly has french people staying there. The Windy and the Calir share the same pool. Rooms at the Claire are good if you stay on the side where they are directly on the sea. The rooms on the restaurant side are dark on the ground floor and the ones upstairs have a lot of the bar noise at night. Rooms are good size with a seperate sitting area. Very lady friendly. "Why you come back to room without lady? You sick?" Don't remember prices at the Clair. Probably around 700-800 in low season and 1000-1200 in high.

I tend to like it in Pattaya when Cobra Gold is on. Really lowers the male age level in town. Lots of young guys having a good time. Really livens up the bars and Agogo's. And it's no problem for us old guys to BF ladies as the "boys" have to be back on base or ship by 11 or 12 so the min. the buses leave all the girls are very eager to get BF after being reved up with all the action. The only shocking part is watching the women sailors. What a bunch of foul mouthed bitches they are. Sitting in bars making snide remarks about how bad the TG's are. Jesus -have they ever looked in a mirror at themselves?

If you walk out the first door on the right after the Thai Limo counter there are some guys there offering new Toyata rides to Patty for 1,500 baht including tolls. look like the same cars Thai limo uses. Very good service. I used it a few weeks ago.

I lease an apt. there year around. A very nice place to stay. The hotel section has 2 type rooms. Ocean front side are large rooms kind of like mini suites but with no sofas. TV's are a little small. Only the 4th floor rooms have actual kingsize beds. The other floors have 2 beds pushed together but the sheets are still made up as twins so that is a problem when you have a TG visit. Great views though. Backside rooms are smaller with Kingsize beds on all floors I think. Quieter too as they only face the parking lot and the pool of the hotel next door. Restaurant and pool are very good and right on the beach. you can swim at night too if you want. Super location. Great staff.

Residence Garden v. Jomtien Boathouse v. Eastiny
DocDuei replied to PenName's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Also depends on how long you will be staying. After a few weeks I got tired of just having one room with a bed in it. Residence garden suites are nice and bright with most having nice views. Good to be able to sit on a real sofa in a livingroom enviroment. It's also nice to have a small kitchen for those small intimate meals. [smiley=gulp.gif] -
NEED SOME HELP I WANT TO BUY A CONDO!
DocDuei replied to airborni's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I would ask people that actually have lived in Pattaya for a long time. like Pete, Partyhead, Hilly and others. They think buying a condo is a good idea. -
Here is a great website for cheap air to LOS. have used them many times. Owner is Thai I think. Call them up for the latest fares. http://www.angeltravel.com

Pattaya Centre Guset Friendly?
DocDuei replied to TopDog's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Was booked there a few years ago but decided to move to a smaller more personal type hotel. It's very large, lots of tour groups and a not very friendly staff. But a good location and the high rooms have great views. I asked about guests and they said two girls at a time max. I could have lived with that . Many better places to stay. -
FLB "Special Online Booking for Residence Gar
DocDuei replied to kenandlat's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
I think Keanandlat post a lot just to get a plug for their own website on FLB board. "Free Advertising" I'm surprised Pete lets them get away with it. -
Have flown most all the different airlines to BKK and Eva Evergreen Deluxe is the best for the money. Having that extra seat room makes the trip from the states seem much shorter. All you get by flying real business clas is better food and drinks for a LOT more money. i'd rather have the larger seats and spend the rest on TG's in FLB. [smiley=tits.gif] Try to get the seats in the very front of the plane where 1st class would normally be. Much quieter than the ones in the 2nd compartment.

Need Hotel or Guest House for 300-400 baht
DocDuei replied to tomx2's topic in Hotel and Accommodation Questions
Try Honey Inn on Soi Honey off 2nd road. Can generally get a room there for under 400 baht no matter what their web site says. Get rooms in the higher numbers so you are at the quiet end. Nice pool area too. -
I like alternating between the 2. Bar Beers are certainly more relaxing to just sit around in. But the girls in the Agogos generaly are much better in bed than Beer bar gals. Lot's of BB girls are just in from the country and are pretty shy. Buffalo Bar and FLB seem to be in a middle ground. Not quite Agogos but not beer bars either. Guess that's why I am usually at one or the other.

Been here 3 days. First time I've stayed. Very nice place, VERY clean, good maid service. Not a bad walk to town but the baht Bus is real easy and cheap. Run all the time. In room 207 which looks exactly like the pictures above too. A few negatives for me are that the bed IS real small compared to a King size. 3 people are really crouded sleeping together and I'm not a big guy. Got stopped last night with my 2 Misty's ladies by the front desk and told I would have to pay a joiner fee for the 2nd lady. I think Ib should tell reception to not do that for people booking from the FLB bar at the special rate. I told them No and to talk to IB. As I haven't met him yet I think that was the right answer as other members here always say they don't pay the extra joiner fee. If I do have to pay it then the hotel is not a bargain as the jojner fee is suppose to be 400 baht. I was a little reluctant to do the "Walk of Shame" through the front restaurant and reception area. There are non -Sanukers staying there. I was also concerned about my 2 friends making too much noise since there are regular guests staying there to. Something I never have to do at other Sanuk type hotels. But I am enjoying it there and it is nice to get away from the noise at night. Staying there 1 month so will update this later. Would also recommend that Ib stock coffee and/or tea in the room. Even if it was an added minibar charge it would be worth it. I keep forgetting to stop at a market. Room service food is suberb but takes a long time to arrive. I'm giving it 4 stars and hope to upgrade that top 5 by the time I leave on Spet 1 Doc Duei
