actually it was only SEK 4180:- I too bit the bait and am going soon Great deal, and getting to fly on the venerable MD-11 before it goes into retirement as a freighter.... Good times! Also, THAI are selling tickets now for 4890 SEK... get'em while you can. I would have gone with Thai if i had known at the time.

Difference between Air China Limited and China Airlines?
7773ER replied to love4fun's topic in Airline Discussion
nothing strange about it, christmas time is high season and thus prices go up -
That's just one or two of their planes though, their old ones are a bit like Thais. Thai are refurbishing their 744 fleet now and they will fly the "shit" planes only to Stockholm and Copenhagen, because those routes only have cheap charter tourist types flying. I heard its the stewardesses least favourite destinations.

check out www.china-airlines.com cheap as chips im flying the reverse route in C-class for cheap!

Hi, I'm thinking of doing the same as you, how did you book this? Did you book the KLM flight separate? or did a travel agent book it all for you? Cause CI has some nice Biz fares but its not worth paying biz for the KLM flight.

I just came home, flew CI AMS-BKK-AMS and have nothing to complain about, except the flight back the cabin was a little cold and i was sat in a draft. Very nice clean plane, pretty F/As, and about what you can expect in economy. I really want to try their J sometime but money is tight. I will fly them again. However, i am looking at flights in november now, example 2-18th but cannot find any fares on their homepage. All other airlines seem to have seats? How come CI seem full entire november or is their website broken?

The airline is bleeding money badly and are closing down many European routes atm. Too bad as they're a 5 star airline. I wanted to fly with them ARN-KUL-BKK but prices were a bit high.
-
OMG is it really taht bad? I aint flown longhaul in 6 years, and Im doing the AMS-BKK with China Airlines next thursday... I cant decide where I should ask to be seated... I cannot handle a screaming baby near me... shouldve gone for Biz
-
Thanx jball. Well they've charged my CC and sent me receipts and booking confirmation to print out etc so. It seems some hotels get confirmed directly, others not. I feel assured now that we will be ok. At least in BKK, staying at Amari St James which from the sound of it is a nice hotel.

Here's a trip report written by someone who took that flight (not me): http://www.airliners.net/discussions/trip_...ead.main/66638/ It's on a brand new Airbus 340-500. Same type Singapore Airlines use for their SIN-LAX and SIN-JFK run. I think you'll have a great time =)

it would be nice not to have someone recline into you... on the other hand u dont want children nearby... choices choices... haha. I will simply decide at checkin.. will be buzzin so much I probably will forget to ask.

Emirates unfortunately decided to put in 10 abreast in their 777s. unlike most other carriers that do 9 abreast. I've not flown on EK though but I hear they're a great airline otherwise. No flights up here in Scandinavia tho.

Turbo, was that the 747 with seatback TVs? I know theyre refurbishing their fleet, but have not seen any pics of seatback tvs in the 747. I hope i get one, wouldnt mind catching a movie on board. I booked tickets online with Travellink, will email them about seats, thanx!

No, i found cheaper prices with asiarooms.com but then i read dodgy reports on them in various forums. It wasnt a huge price diff. So, I reckon if i gotta yell at someone on the phone it's better if she understands english.
