I am loving it. Playing havoc with my work though as not sleeping until 05.00 am. Best thing is whopping the Aussies asses. Its nice to have turned tables for a change as I DO accept they have generally been vastly superior. With so many Aussie mates here its nice NOT to be the brunt of the jokes for a change.

Some people seem to have missed the point! Although the topic title mentions Gogo bars i don't think it was intended to become a LK vs WS Gogo comparison!?? Nor did it surmise they are somehow beter in LK it just made the point that the Soi is growing and developing. Surely the point was that the simple fact it "has" Gogo bars makes it a more attractive night out venue? some of us just want to enjoy a night out and for many that just means having options and variety. Take a look at Facebook to see millions of messages of condolence! Love the products or hate them it is remarkable that the "boss" of the 2nd biggest company in the world is so universally liked and respected. That is very very rare in today's world and perhaps the best testimony. I mean can anyone even name the top honcho at Exxon (without looking it up)? I doubt many can. LK vs WS hmmmm let me see? OK just to be awkward I prefer........ummm both, or neither depending on your perspective! Depends on my mood, who I am meeting and where they chose to meet blah blah blah. LK is more than adequate for a night out with some great bars etc, not least the two DD's. No need to roam far and wide in any 8 hour spell. Not 100% sure Tom - my last flight (April) left BKK about 1.am approx and arrive LHR about 6am or so - i am adding time for customs, baggage etc. I know it was EARLY as I was in the London office with plenty of time for a 9a.m meeting. ALL the direct carriers including EVA have night time flights leaving around 9.30pm from LHR. EVA have a return from BKK that arrives at 7.30am so NO need for an overnight stay. EVA have brand new 777s with personal interactive entertainment where you can stop and start the movies to suit your sleep. The 777s have slightly less legro

Can anyone explain to me the logic behind the ban on driving a new car between 7pm and 7 am. Apparently I have to wait up to 2 months for the white plate and this just seems daft to me. I know many people ignore this but Id like to know why this law exists coz its pissed me off big time

I get the bus to Bangkok every week for work. It has NEVER taken more than 1 hour 45 minutes although I do go fairly early. and get off and On Nut BTS not Ekkamai. If you are just heading into Sukhumvit with little luggage its a very easy and cheap option. The Ekamai option is best for this BUT make sure you get off at On Nut NOT Ekamai as that last mile or so can take ages in traffic. The bus will stop at the bottom of the stairs up to the On Nut BTS if you ask the attendant (the one who sites next to the driver). TOT switched me on in a few days (exisiting telephone line). I have the 512 service but its often slow and at certain times of day VERY slow. Connecting via wireless with them was a nightmare and I had to get someone in at the end to do it. The guy who came to do it was really switched on and he told me not to use TOT when I move but didn't mention the name of the alternative. I have his number if anyone wants it.
