Good luck with EVA they are among the most difficult to understand.. I knew that after so many miles you can get an upgrade but not sure about the free flight. I flew NW air last trip in Feb I dont think they are paired up with EVA just yet because I have a working mileage plan with NW air. Flights suck though ... But with NW air you go to the website enter your name etc and how many miles u have earned popps up and u match it for what you can get for a flight. Enough miles free flight. With EVA who I like to fly with they dont have it set up like that... Sorry I wasnt of much help but I know what you mean!! ED

I think its fantastick that everyone gets along so well on Buakaow!! When I wrote my post I was thinking of the first timers to Pattaya. IM happy to see that everyone has found a great place to call 2nd home while in town What I remember is that when I first checked into town I remembered how jammed up and busy it was with people and traffic in Bangkok. I really needed to wind down a little bit. I arived in Pattaya and stayed at the Lek Hotel, located along soi 13 and 2nd road. Just a cheap room but on the 9th floor and facing the sea. It was SO NICE to open my room door and look out the balcony at the ocean and straight down at the pool full of Thai girls. Sparkling water straight ahead with boats, and babes visiting in bikinis just down below. No moto taxis, venders, baht busses or anything like that. At night kissing on the balcony, fooling around in the elevator, and many happy memories!! I walked out the front door and I was on 2nd road. I walked out the back door (which has the best and cheapest buffet in town right by the pool ), and a few feet down the side soi to Beach road!! No motor taxi, No baht bus, Just 5 mins to everywhere. Thats the reason I posted what I did. When I was brand new in town I wanted a place that wasnt to spendy but still was soothing to the eye when I wasnt on the prowl. Buakaow came with time. Sorry if I offended anyone with my opinion on your living areas. I only wish the best for all of you!! IM also still learning about additional reasonable and great places to stay. I didnt intend to put down any living locations. ED

Get an attorney to assist you on the final purchasing process and make sure that there are no outstanding loans out in which the owner has used his house hes selling as collateral.. In other words a lein Buy from a farong if you can Good luck By the way the houses are the "most likely" to bet broken into if your not there for months at a time. With a condo you put a big ass door and lock system on that and its still in tact when you get back. Do not let relatives " take care" of your place. They have a tendancy to get to comfortable and you cant get rid of them later.

I have to agree with Laffnliv.. I think after a cpl of years there the stress will do you in!! The women long term will drive you bonkers. You will miss home and the way things probably get done back there. Dont let "living the Holiday life" from your limited although long visists create a smokescreen covering reality. Outstanding Holiday spot but my opinion is and its only my opinion is its a Hoilday spot. Nothing more nothing less. Dont forget They want us to visit there they want us to spend money there and we are welcome to stay for about 4 weeks. And then the BS trips across the border start as your well aware of. You will always be a tourist in the governement's eyes. And treated as such

I think and its only an opinion that Soi Buakaow.. is for the budget minded traveller. Its not for a first timer because you really need to get to know the area a little bit first. There are some nice rooms to be had but it does take a little bit of wandering around to find the right spot. My last time on Buakaow was Feb of this year so this may be a bit old but not too bad. When the topic of "noise" came up on these posts you cannot say Buakaow is quiet. Not by a long shot. It is a major roadway where taxis ply along as well as a route to the market place it is also the connecting road with S Pattaya road as well as central Pattaya road. It can be dangerous to walk on if your tipsy on the way home. There are many BBQ and food areas which can really kick up the smoke. The nice part of it is that Buakaow is so busy that many many new stand bars have opened in the area. As you walk or ride N bound on the road youll see many a new place has popped open along the small Sois... The mention of countless internet shops laundry services as well as shops was already discussed. Also dont forget to mention taxi to airport shops .. this is a place where alot of older gents who have retired on a budget in LOS stay. It is also very popular with the back pack groups. My bottom line is that if you are looking for a reasonable priced Hotel, Not too fancy and in a more Market style- area. Then Buakow is for you. However, at least check it out before you make reservations... If you are not a good walker or a little shy on taking a motorbike Dont stay there! You are not near the go gos if you plannned on hitting the walking street. Good luck on your stay!! ED

Nivla I have a link to the rental office that Les 21 mentioned. Only problem with the Yen is they book up way in advance with long stayers so you have to contact them very early... I agree Les a good deal for the money.. But busy getting rooma lately. My last stay there was Feb 06... The situation you mentioned that u didnt care for is very busy in that area although they never bother you but the big party area for that lifstyle is on the corner and directly behind then Yen... Couple ... My post is in no way to flame your idea with a very willing lady cumming along with you.. I think it just steered me in the direction of what I have seen happend to Pattaya. And its really not for the better. Sometimes they forget who and what put Pattaya on the map!! Maybe its a bit seedy but thats the facts.. but they are always looking at sprucing it up and advertising it as a " family" destination! This in turn lures those cpls you see walking up and down walking street googling at "us" but hardley ever stopping in for a drink. Nothing Like putting those little spinners on the back of your motor bike over there and u cant even feel the shocks move.. Like you mentioned 23 years old beautiful silky hair 0% body fat. All that youthfull energy in the sack..... AHHHH yes. And then you come back home and see those humongous women who think because they have tits down to their stomach they are sex gods and the guys dont see the rest of the flab that goes with the boobs..

Cenn I have to agree with you!! It may have been said as a joke but it does hold truth!! If you watch the Pattaya news on TV as you nurse that hangover you will see all kind of womens groups as well as functions going on all about town from the guys who have taken up residence in Pattaya with the "Mrs". Why on earth would you move your Mrs to Pattaya?? What is the rational with that. Its a known party spot where guys go to have the time of their life. The do gooders are going to ruin it. They dont like the noise, they dont like the ladies out there working, They think they are being held against their will and it goes on and on. And we are all perves in their minds. Which they in turn discuss with their friends back home. Yes there are a few guys that bring the Mrs along to party and hope she will get together in a 3 sum. However many a nite I have sat at an outside bar along beach road and observed the guy out front with the big shit eating grin with his wife in tow behind with a scoul/frown on her face. Or the ones that are already engaged in an arguement. WAKE THE F>>K up!!!! you dont bring a lady from home to Pattaya. Its going to bite you in the ass as well as ruin it for the rest of us. Might as well be the guy with the cam corder walking along walking street that makes videos of you as you walk by.. Ever see those guys!!!

I bought one last time at Big C also You can ask the lady u might need a new card sometimes they expire with time. BIG C has a new phone area but small shop inside the store I havent tried the 2nd hand place upstairs. They have rock bottom budget phones for sale.. We checkd Car Four and a few other places first. For the low priced short trm phones which of course will be yours to keep they come about about the same price.. Good luck

Yes you can be alone.. When I had issues going on back home I needed some time to chill out in Pattaya. I would still go out at night but during the day was " My time" I dont know why they are bothering you if you go for a stroll in the Royal Garden? Also get down to Jomtien beach and find a spot you like with venders near by for your refreshments and enjoy the beach and ocean and people watching.. I think you will only be bothered by food sellers and just nod your head no... If you would like a nice beach spot I know a good one just send me a follow up!!! I would be happy to review the photos once your done just to let you know how well they came out !!! HAHA Seriously, As you know even though your in "party city" and just about everything goes. The public display thing is still tough. It seems to me that no matter where you go to be alone unless your going to Ko Phi Phi island or something, You will see people walking around... I have been travelling to Pattaya since 1992 and am a serious regular.. The most Ive seen in the way of nudity on the beaches are the lady boys showing off their tops as well as the western women sunbathing and doing the top off routine. Its still fairly dicreet. Actual photo "posing" as harmless as it may be... And Damn I wish we were all there to see might get frowned upon and even a contact by the beach Police ughhhh.. If you have a few extra baht You could rent out a speed boat with driver on beach road and ask him to take you to Ko Larn island and drop you in a remote area. they will even wait for you.. You could go that route. They are all over for rent.. Sometimes they toe their wives along too though.. Cameras are not allowed in the massage joints. They dont check your pockets though and I bet if you tip the girl well she might be game. Its just a hit or miss chance with that!! But they wont grab it from you if you just have it on your person.. Nivla, Ive stayed there on several occasions. For the most part I was ok with it. I dont know which website you chose when checking into it. Private parties rent their units out when not in town, There is a rental place across the street from yensabai that does that and the owner himself of the bldg has an office downstairs that rents them out. If I may offer a tip. Not to be rude but dont rent from the owner. You get the bare bones Thai style rooms. Rent from a western owner or office. They know what your looking for. New ac units and fans bigger and better TVs VCD's you know what I mean. Higher up the better try from 5th floor up. Yensabi is about a 12-15 min walk to the strip. It is a preferred place by folks staying for a while and say with a motorbike. There are motorbike taxis out front if you need one. Also cheap laundrymats too. Little stores dot the street to. Very nice swimming pool. Use it in the AM cold in the afternoon but very nice... Yensabi has a high gay population> I dont know your preference. They however have no problem at all with the straight guys with the girls. I have never run into anything. They are very quiet. So bottom line: Find out whos offering the unit. Good place for a cpl week stay or longer.. Oops almost forgot. Guest friendly?? Absolutley... Let me know how it works out!! Ed

I agree.. There are ads listed in the Bangkok Post.. Grab one while in BKK In Pattaya you can find them in those free magazines at the hotels. Even though more limited... When travelling as a cpl youll find as mentioned prior the services for the ladies ( ie: straight guys for them ) are not that common... Its really a guy town.. But dont let it stop you for having fun with your Mrs. She will love the beach, the food, and shopping.. Its just the other :-) entertainment that will be more difficult..

Yes had the whitening done at Bangkok Pattaya International. As you know excellent Hospital No doubt about it. Teeth were not in nasty condition whatsoever but tried the whitening. Barely noticable. Thats from the above place If your in the states Use the Crest white strips. They really do work and are much cheaper. Use the strips not the other junk out there. Do just like they say twice a day " dont" brush teeth first. Watch the results! Good luck killer!!

# 1 choice.. Bangkok Pattaya International Hospital. Sukhumvit RD This is not a roadside clinic and is total western standards. Its is still not exspensive... # 2 Pattaya Memorial on 2nd road. May be easier to get to from your Hotel. In Thailand good dentists work out of the Hospitals. I have used both and worked out wonderful!!! Use that info if you get sick also :-)

Dont worry about them being scammers.. Just negotiate and dont buy at the first shop you enter.. Have bought about 10 suits over the years. Its just finind a place your comfortable with. BUT no problem with them doing something wrong to you. Get everything discussed up front :-) If possible order a little bit eraly instead of last min just in case adjustments needed. And try it on in your room too OK!! I made that mistake and just grabbed it and ran later

April 13 - April 15 Officially Count on it starting even a day earlier in Pattaya and going long as they can get away with it!!!!

Right now the prices have gone up so high!!! If you are just coming and going to Pattaya say 2 times a year maybe 3 just continue to rent!! Dont get yourself tied up in a place that your are not in for extended periods of time. Just an opinion!! You do what you like :-) Long as your having a great time there..

Fully understand and do appreciate your polite comments in regards to the bike issue. Well noted!! I have driven on beach rd, 2nd rd, 3rd rd, Sukhumvit to Lotus, Naklua, Trepasit and the likes. Rode the Big bikes to Rayong and also to The BKK Highway. I think Ive travelled to quite a few spots over the years. The only thing that slowed me down was the heat on the helmet over time and road film in your face in major highways. I am also an avid rider and owner of an 1800cc Goldwing back home. You should try and ride that on a US west coast expressway at rush hour<<< For the little 110CC bikes riding up and down beach road and 2nd road is not a big deal. Neither is it to drive to Jomtien beach. Most of the 15 yo kids have a motorbike to ride each day to and from school. I have had so much fun exploring back roads and finding temples and villages that you might overlook riding in a freaking baht bus. Finding hideway beach areas where just the two of us could be alone. I have only hit 1 pothole in several years riding on beach road and I lost my glasses out of the front basket. Beach road and 2nd road is just fine and you wont hit it at 100 KMH. I can only say that I have saved 100s if not thousands of baht in taxi rip off fees and busses from having my own bike to ride. There is nothing like having a sweet young lady sitting behind you on the bike and holding on to you while pushing her chest up into your back :-) Now thats Hot!!!!!! At least Ill die happy!!!!!
