House Rentals? Any experience?

I know this is a little off the subject of Pattaya, per se, but I'm thinking about staying a while in Thailand and would like to rent a house that is close to the beach...anywhere. Doesn't have to be in a major city. Just want a nice place to get away from it all for a month or so.

 

Does anyone have any idea how much I would need to pay? Are there any good sites to look for? Any personal experience?

It all depends on how much your willing to pay to get rid of the snakes, bugs and things on a daily basis.
