I'm sure this has been mentioned before. I remember reading somewhere foreign mobiles don't work in Thailand. I just want to buy a sim card while I'm on holiday. Is this possible or is it too difficult.

Thanks

GSm i.e new phones. All European phones do and most tri-band US phones work. You may need to unlock your phone from your home network (can be done in LOS for circa Bt300). Buying a SIM card is easy.

I recommend Happy DPrompt (DTAC) which has happy hours and means that you are not putting money in the hands of the thieving bastard Toxin.

I've never had a problem with my Vodafone pay as you go mobile - apart from the fucking excessive charge that they make. Think I would buy a Thai sim card if i was going to be using the phone a lot - don't think I need to get the phone unlocked as I only bought the phone and transferred the Sim card from my old phone into the new one :beer

Absolutely right do NOT feed conman fascist A.I.S.Toxin : 1luv him.

DTAC Happy Dprompt with Happy Hours mucho better deal than thieving A.I.S.Toxin anyway.

SMS Happy Dprompt to ANY non-TH network three yes 3 baht per SMS in stead of ten yes 10 baht with phuckingA.I.S.Toxin. Outrageous profit surely to pay for :D :D and :beer
