Is it true that you no longer have to reconfirm your flight home with Emirates?

I have heard that some airlines no longer need return flight confirmation, but I think that Emirates is NOT one of them?

I always fly Emirates, and have always reconfirmed 2/3 days prior to my departure date?

no you dont need to confirm used emirates last 3 trips

However, if you are flying Jordanian, you must or they re-sell your seat!
