Eva bringing 777 to LHR-BKK

Recommended Posts

I first saw it mentioned on Flyertalk so I checked out the Eva Air site. From mid September BR will be using a 777-300ER on BR067 and 068, probably just on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays for a start.

The 777 has no Super first class, it seems as though the Tuesday flight will be 747-4 and Wednesday the Combi.

I guess Eva will not be able to ship so much cargo losing the Combi one day a week.

Gus,

The 773 will replace the 747 Combis because of an impending EU regulation which would require considerable modifications to combi aircraft (KLM are in a similar position). The current 747 combis will be either thrown at the US market or converted to full freighter. The full pax 747 at LHR are not affected. I'm not sure what the score is with the combi showing up one day a week unless they have a limited number which have undergone the modification.

The sensible thing to do at the moment would be to continue accumulating your miles and not waste them on an upgrade on the 747. The good news is, at the moment, you can still purchase an Evergreen Deluxe return for travel in September for less than GBP630 incl tax which is outstanding value when compared to the equivelant BA product.

I flew MAN-SIN non-stop in April on their 773 and was seriously impressed - it is a world of difference as compared to the 747.

Regards,

Tom

Tom

Thanks for the update on the Eva 773. Thursday I am going to London, 1/ to have a chat with OURS and book my flight, I am on the waitlist at the moment, but not sure if confirmed for economy. They are supposed to get back to me but I expect they cannot get an answer from Eva.

2/Also I'll have a trip round the girlie bars of Shoreditch, but they are nowhere as interesting as the girlie bars of Thailand.

With a bit of luck I may have a new avatar, got a bit fed up with the Spitfire or whatever it was now I have hit 400 posts.
