Southern Star Hotel-Dynasty Inn

Hello ladies and Gentlemen,

 

I have booked these hotels for my stay in February, can anyone enlighten me with the following information-

 

How far from the Dolphin roundabout is the Souther Star and has anyone stayed there?Whats it like?

 

Whats the Dynasty Inn like?

I'll tell you a little about the Dynasty Inn as I stayed there in Oct04. About a year and a half old so everything works well, bed was comfy, bathroom was good with plenty of pressure and warm water. No in-room safes but safety boxes at front desk can be accessed 24 hours. TV channels are limited. Food is ok but is cheaper to eat elswhere. Laundry service was good.

 

Be warned construction on Soi 13 has been and still is going on next door. When I stayed there I was not bothered by it on the 7th floor.

 

I like the location as I spend most nights on walking street and it's about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Also close to Royal Garden Mall and of course the beach is just at the end of the soi. If you need a baht bus, you just have to choose your direction.

 

I am staying there next month again unless the construction noise has gotten worse. This time of year the rooms go for 1200 Baht/night.

 

Hope this helps. The other hotel you mentioned I know nothing about.

Patience is a virtue.

 

There are reviews posted of both hotels (look for the "hotels" on the top left of this page) but Southern Star is fairly new so there aren't likely many people who have stayed there on the forum. Plus the fact that is a bit far out. It's on Soi 12 in Naklua past Wat Po on the left, so it must be at least one km north of the roundabout.

 

Never been there but it looks good on their website and might be worth a look.

Stayed there twice. Last stay was Dec 04. Nice and clean, quite new.

Very good location, next to Mike Shopping Centre and 5 minutes walk to Royal Garden ( Marriot Hotel) and the beach. It has a very nice and clean 24 hours coffee house and Internet.

 

There was a small swimming pool on the 7 floor.

 

They provide free transport (One way) from Dynasty Inn Bangkok straight to this hotel if you book Dynasty Inn, Pattaya at least two days. The mini van usually leave Dynasty BKK 11 am so you can reach Pattaya about 1 1/2 hour. Quiote fast and convenient.

Never stayed at the Dynasty Inn in Pattaya but have stayed at the Dynasty Resort in Pattaya many times. Everything there is perfect from the service and staff to the rooms and pool. I'll be there next week.
