1) Lek hotel

2) Nova Park

3) Residence Gardens

I am looking for a nice hotel, that is GF, not to far from the action but will enable me to be relaxed when i need to.

I am flying to BKK, how long is the transfer and any recomendations??

I will be in BKK on the 28th, if anyone else is going, do board members meet up for a drink any where ??, I am buying!!!!

All ok but Lek on Soi 13 is well placed for the action and buffet breakfast 95 baht good.

Taxi BKK / Pattaya 2.5 hrs get good taxi search on here or it can take you another 1 hr plus for novice driver to find hotel.

Im sure many on here will want to take you up on your offer of a free beer. Beware ex pats. OK for drink but don't discuss personal or business matters with them.

bintang,

Try and get your seat on the left side of the plane as close to the door as you can. Hustle your butt up to immigration and try and beat the crowd. In the baggage area on the wall past customs are two money change machine. Decent rates. Duty free shop further down the same wall has good prices on booze and cigs.

Check the meeting section and look under reliable car and driver. Fair number of car services are listed there. I like Alex myself but a few guys have had problems with him. I haven't. Since this is your first time you want a driver who knows Pattaya. Enjoy your stay.

Anyone of the hotels you have listed are good places to stay. Nova Park has excellent location on Beach Road.

bintang, in addition to the above I'd recommend that you print a map of pattaya showing the location of your chosen hotel plus if possible copy down the address of the hotel in Thai. A good map is available here along with a number of other sites.

The 2nd time I stayed at the RG, the taxi driver was incapable of reading a very simple map! I hate to think where we would have ended up if i hadn't known where we were going. Last time, the driver drove straight past the RG at 6.15 on a Saturday night. (At least he was on the right road.) Doing a u-turn at that time of the evening was interesting! :D

bintang,

All the hotels are good choices and have their particular pros and cons. The Nova Park, however, is nowhere near the beach as stated above. It does have a brand new wing that has been open a matter of weeks.

Enjoy yourself Bintang, I can justabout remember my first time all those years ago and I have been hooked ever since. Don't for get to post and make us all jealous!

If you are still around on the 12th of Feb, drop me a line and i will buy you a beer! You may have run out of cash by then!

A couple of things which might help.

You might consider other hotels like Sabai Lodge (I have stayed there for many years and its perfect;) however I am trying something different this February. I am staying at the Dynasty Inn which is pretty new, cheap, and girl friendly. I will post a report as to what it is like on my return in March. :banghead

All the hotels you mention are OK as far as I am aware and on on the main Baht bus circle, which goes the full length of Beach Road and back along second road. 2guns

As for being in the heart of action- well I guess that most would say that Walking Street is the place, however, The action actually starts at Nakula and ends at Jomtien!!! So its kinda difficult to be out of the action. Basically, everywhere you go you will find available young ladies.

Good luck, enjoy and stay safe, above all don't fall into the usual trap and fall in love with the first girl you barfine! :D
