Will be in Pattaya on 14th April ,after a week in Chiang Mai, just wondering if the hotels will be busy or struggling to get costumers?

Would prices be negotible on a walk in basis?, or internet bookings the best way to go?

I imagine they'll be busy, redctt - a lot of Thais travel out of town for Songkhran too.

I spent last Songkhran in Chiang Mai, and the hotels were very busy and also increased their rates. I hope to catch a day or two of it this year, but unfortunately will be leaving on the 15th of April.

It would be interesting to hear your comparison of the event in both cities; have you seen Songkhran before?

If you want to hook up for a beer in CM, let me know- I had a great time during Songkhran there last year.
