looking for advice on staying at the Sumbeam Hotel, got a rate from R24 at 2100 bath for deluxe room.

I liked the location, and wanted a nice place to stay, so price looks like OK, but I have read that some people have paid guest fee 300b and others have not had to pay.

thanks,

Good hotel, great location, really friendly staff. (The Security guards and Bell Boys still hello to me, 15 months after I last stayed there !)

However I won't stay at hotels that charge guest fees, so they lost my business.

Thanks guys,

Actually SV,

I was trying to get into Sunshine Hotel first, but haven't heard back from them so I was checking around and found this Sunbeam deal. I think the rates are a bit better at Sunshine too. So I think again I will try to call and see if I can get something going that way.

Avoid Sunbeam.

As stated Sunshine is just as good and half the price. So too are Eastinys (Place and Inn) and Flippers (Lodge and House). All in same area and none charge guest fees, (Although the Eastinys will for more than the "missionary one" girl).

If those that Fatboy mentioned are full, try either Bella Villa Prima, Sunshine Vista or one of the Sabai's. All are guest friendly and for 2100 baht you should get a very nice room. They are not in the location you asked, but they have plenty of beer bars and soapies nearby and it only a short distance by baht bus away to Soi 7/8.
