It would seem that the poster left Khrong Fa high and dry at the airport. Since he had booked their service and they had been at the airport to collect him it seems perfectly reasonable that he should pay for that service. It was hardly the fault of Khrong Fa that he had made multiple taxi bookings.

I have used Khrong Fa on several occasions without any of the hassles you mention but if I book a taxi I tend to use that service.

Tom and Ting Tong, you should read Lemons entire post. It was Mr Dang who caused his problems. Maybe a communication problem, but the upshot was that Khrong Fa were left, as Tom says, high and dry.

I would like to add my support for Khrong Fa. Have used them on 8 different occasions and never with a problem. Infact last year my plane got to Australia and then packed up so we had to wait for 2 days for it to be mended. I had no way of telling Khrong Fa as I didnt have their number. Anyway get to Bkk some 36 hours late and heh the driver is waiting for me. I was not required to pay any extra for the wasted trip he had previously made. Seems simple to me if you book a taxi then use the taxi or be prepared to pay compensation.

I will also come to their defense. I have used them a total of 8 times now and never a problem. On this last trip I was over an hour late due to a medical problem with another passanger just as we were backing away from the gate at Narita. By the time they removed him from the plane and also his luggage we were almost 2 hour behind schedule. I was worried that my driver might have already left the airport but was happy to see him standing in the arrival hall with my name and was in Pattaya in 1 1/2 hours and TGF shortly thereafter. :D I do provide them with my flight number so that if I'm not there at the stated time that the driver will check on the flight status.

" I have used them a total of 8 times now and never a problem."

I would consider yourself lucky.

I used them ONCE about 2 1/2 years ago. I had asked the hotel directly whether I was to pay his driver or at the desk, and the aging manager instructed me to pay the driver. Thankfully I saved the e-mail and brought it with me. I did as instructed and was immediately asked to pay again at check-in! The day manager questioned me about it the next day, and it turns out the driver lied about the amount I gave him, cheating the hotel out of their cut! The driver and his boss showed-up for a face-to-face and lied to my face again!!! :D The hotel was pretty good about it overall, but Krong Fa is a crook and I would never do business with him again.

Oh. And did I mention.... The driver was specificly told to take the tollway ( I stipulated when I made the reservation and told him when I climbed in back) but he took the old road through Chon Buri?

A bad bunch to be avoided IMO.

In all the time I have used them I have never come across a "him" managing the operation. It has always been Arunee who is in the office, answers the phone/e-mails etc and the drivers refer to her as "Boss".

" I have never come across a "him" managing the operation"

I suppose if all else fails, we can just deny he exists?

An older gentlemen showed-up with the driver and I assumed he was a supervisor or owner. I'm at a disadvantage because the hotel arranged the transport and it happened over two years ago. But I do know the name of the company I was dealing with. While they were there I was diplomatic and suggested a possible reason why the driver might have "accidentally" mixed the money I gave him with his own. But it was very obvious the games they were playing.

I think ting_tong said it best.

Seems to me that most of the problems appeared to be sometime ago, infact over 2 years ago. Crikey maybe their service has now changed and is better. Shit who knows. Just seems like a long time to be holding a grudge, fair enough dont use them thats your choice. Everyone at some time has a poor experience with something/body in Thailand wether it be girl, restaurant, hotel or whatever. Let it go. Personally I had a terrible experience at Baybreeze hotel but dont choose to go on about it at every available opportunity.

When you get threatened, and coerced to hand over money for a service that was not rendered, you may feel as strongly about this as I have. Try flying 18 hours and having no ride, then get to your hotel and having a screaming cunt ask for money?

As for the baybreeze, some people like it, some dont, I stayed there for 2 months at 1 shot one year.

YMMV

Tom

That's the only person who I've dealt with. Have only been using them since2004 after Thai Limo jacked up their prices. I'm always given a receipt when I've paid the driver.
