:cry1 Just received a reply from the good people of Areca Lodge stating that they are fully booked between 10-24 oct which throws a spanner in the works, as i'm once again deciding where to stay. Plan B was either the sandy spring hotel or residence garden or perhaps Mamaisons. Any suggestions?

Try Charlie Place on the corner of Soi Diana inn and Soi Bukhao. I stayed there in March - 650 Baht per night - and paid 200 baht per day to use Areca Lodge's pool and facilities. After 3 days in Charlie Place Areca staff informed me that they had found a room at 990 baht.

Sorry, don't have a phone number or email address for Charlie Place.

Strange that the Areca is full up 5 months away. I know it's popular but almost any hotel should be available 5 months away, even at Christmas time.

Sandy Springs is good, close to Areca, also Dynasty Inn , both on soi 13. Not sure what the contruction will be like on soi 13 then, hopefully it's almost done. :o

Never stayed at the RG but a friend said the hotel had rock hard beds and he had trouble sleeping.

Thats not true about the RG, beds are very comfy IMHO, it does seem odd that the areca is fully booked because i got a room there for June at two months notice

Easy to book a hotel in June as it's low season. October is the start of high season.

I just stayed in pattya april 15- may 3. For second part of the trip I checked into Sandy springs for 5 days. The day I got there I got the last rom a suite. Over the next 5 days i heard them repeatly tell people ther was no rooms. The second day freind came to pattya and wanted to stay at sandy springs with us. No rooms so the went to dynasty which told them it was their last room. The next day some more friends showed up. Sandy full, dynasty full, Lek hotel full, AA had a room. Now this was for april after songran so it is not a particularly busy time.

My point is that if you want a specific hotel better to check as far in advance as possible. Especially if it is a small hotel. If you are traveling during high season you can spend a lot of time trying to find a room if you have a certain standard/ or price you are trying to find. :beer :beer

Bay Breeze isn't bad and its in the same area. If you don't care about a pool, the Thai

Archer is just around the corner from Acreca - across from Lolita's and has wi-fi in all the rooms.
