  1. about 6 years ago i came to pattaya for the first time. My time in pattaya was always great. I kept planning on retiring to thailand and living the good life but I have been putting it off trying to put away enough money to really live like a king. I could have retired last year but i would have only gotten around $2500 us and I knew that if I kept working for another five years that it would be more like $5000. so I put off my dream. My job sucks and life here the states is miserable compared to being back in pattaya. but I kept thinking that in a few more years I will be there full time. today I found out that I have stage IV pancreatic cancer. next monday I have to arrnage with an cancer doc for a biopsy and they can tell me what my options are. But things don;t look good. my chance of living another 5 years is around 4%. the most likely outcome is that I will die in 6 months to 1 year. things will get hectic soon as I go through the surgeries, chemo and other things, I probably will not post much and I will be lucky if I get another chance to return to pattaya. so my advice to you if you have never been. go now!!! if you are trying to plan for some future to retire in thailand work on getting there asap. and if you are reading this more than 6 months from today. trust a dying man, my only regret is that I didn't go to LOS sooner, my only mistake that I stayed in the USA too long and will not be able to die in the place I love.
  2. A friend of mine sent this to me it is pretty funny. BTW don't follow thru on the press the love button it is a link to a site that trys to sign you up and charge your mobile number. http://www.moanmyip.com/
  3. Di, if all farang women had your attitude there would not be any need to go to LOS.
  4. yeah prices are up dollar is down. If you are a yank it sucks.
  5. pattaya klang & sukumvit
  6. citichic is a long way (1 plus k) down the soi. closer to robinson and the westin than anything else. very nice place.
  7. hey redwood, it doesn't say joiner fee--- it says not guest freindly. Big difference. Moniten in pattaya does not allow anyone other than a registered guest in a room. So if you are staying there and you have your tilac with you when you register then they will let her come and go as she pleases. If she is not on the card then she is not allowed in the hotel. but they don't charge a joiner joe the hotels are like the girls someitmes they are not new, just new to us. LOL warburi was an old hotel 5 years ago.
  8. Don't believe all the negative stuff about NANA. They have some of the best beds in all of thailand that you will find in a hotel less than 4000 baht. (jw marriot, shreaton etc) The nana has latex mattresses and there are backrests built into the headboards if you want to sit in bed and watch TV. After staying at whitehouse hotel in pattaya and winding up with a fucked up back (whitehouse has repleced their mattresses with cheap shit hard as concrete crap mattresses) I went to BKK with Hawk and stayed at NANA for one night. Next day my back was better. BTW some fucking asshole mattress company rep must have been making the kickback sell all over thailand. Several hotels have changed out their mattresses to rock hard cheap shit crap in the last 6 months. As far a I am concerned whitehouse wasz dodgy booking before, now with crap mattresses I would not stay there if you paid me. Nana also has a great breakfast buffet. I have stayed at sheraton grande**, majestic suites, majestic grande*, dynasty, dynasty grande*, westin grande**, swiss grotino*, residence gardens, sandy springs*, siam bayshore*, hard rock, marriot**, jw marriot**, whithouse ccondotel, mercure, radjaphruk, bel-air princess*. siam city hotel*, soffitel silom**, silver springs hotel, jomtiem boathouse, nana mansions, and a few other i can't remember and the NANA** rates in my top 5. hotels with decent beds are marked by a *. great beds are ** The majestic suites are good but I will bet that you go across the street for breakfast buffet at the NANA at least once and pay 200 baht for what is included in the 1290 baht rate. cheers
  9. hey mulphy, don't get distraught seem like a very generous offer. Many of us do not read the board evry day when we are in patts. Other things on our minds
  10. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT change your money at the airport. every exchange in the new airport that I have seen gives the same rate for small bills, hundreds, and travelor's checks. If you are cashing 100's or travelors checks you will gert a better rate by waiting until you get out of the airport. If you have to have cash before you leave the airport then use the ATMs
  11. A couple attending an art exhibition at the National gallery was staring at a portrait that had them completely confused. The painting depicted three very black and totally naked men sitting on a park bench. Two of the figures had black dicks, but the one in the middle had a pink dickl. The curator of the gallery realized that they were having trouble interpreting the painting and offered his assistance. He went on for nearly half an hour explaining how it depicted the sexual emasculation of African Americans in a predominately white, patriarchal society..."In fact," he pointed out, "some serious critics believe that the pink penis also reflects the cultural and sociological oppression experienced by gay men in contemporary society." After the curator left, a young man in a Kentucky T-shirt approached the couple and said, "Would you like to know what the painting is really about? "Now why would you claim to be more of an expert than the curator of the gallery?" asked the couple. "Because I'm the guy who painted it," he replied. "In fact, there are no African Americans depicted at all. They're just three Kentucky coal miners, and the guy in the middle went home for lunch.

    Khorat City

right next to the mall is a new (1 year old) apartment building. I watched as they were building it and it seemed nice. supposed to be 4000 baht a month. Good location seem ther are always some girls at the mall looking for farangs. About 1000 meters down the street towards the downtown there is on the south side of the street there is the ratchaphruk hotel. They have a disco there and there are a lot of chick looking for farangs. If you are buy the hotel sima thani on hwy2 you are close to a issan nightclub. sima thani is on the north side directly across hwy 2 south side there is sala dang night club. Lots of hotties go there. In the same comlex there is also suppose to be a soapie massage. Heading north towards khon khean there is is a hotel and soapie paladin on the east side of the road about 2 klick north of the downtown. Also many of the restuarants on hwy 2 as you head into town have sing a song girls. If you hit the right place the girls are good to go for a short time. I will be hitting there is a couple of weeks I'll try to make sure I get better details.
  13. I stayed there right after they opened. In fact they were not finished building yet. price then was 1600 baht. Very nice rooms I would consider them better than majestic grande. Last year I stayed a couple of more times. 2200 baht or there abouts. Very good service. they also arranged a car service to pattaya for me. 1200 baht a large sedan I think it was an older mazda 929. but very nice.
  14. for those willing to spend the extra cash there is an option for business class. Phillipine airlines has a very inexpensive business class about 2300 us to manila. from there you can catch a cebu paicfic flight to bkk. For the christmas season when you face $US1700 -2300 for coach paying the $US2300 for business class for the long leg and then another $us100 for the short flight in coach makes sense to me and you can make a side trip to bkk while you are there.
  15. I just purchase delux/elite seating for my next trip to bkk on eva. I flew my last trip on them as well. the delux/elite is not comparable to any airlines business class. but for $200 more roundtrip it is worth the extra room to me. upside the seat is about 4 incehs wider than coach for most airlines. that means for me I am not sitting waist to waist with the passenger next to me. The downside the center armrests between the seats are about 4 inches across and hard plastic and fixed. Even if you have an empty seat next to you it is not going to do you any good. My last trip I had empty seat next to me for sfo-tpe and tpe-sfo. with the centere consoles there it did me no good. But the extra leg room is nice. I used to always fly united but they fucked me over so much the last couple of years that I have stopped flying them. The delux seat have about 3-4 inches more room than united premier seats. But on a united flight if the seat next to you is vacant you roll up the armrst and strech out.
