Hi,

Has anyone stayed at the Silversands Hotel in Jomtien on Jomtien Beach Road near Soi Whitehouse. Could you give me some information about the place and tell me how much the rooms are.

In about 1998 or 99 I stayed in the week before Songkran. Rooms were 700b single, (as quoted by Lonely Planet--amazing); guest policy depended on who was on the desk

I was laid up with a bug so didn't test it too often :clap2

Rate went up to 1200 over Songkran.

I was in the old wing, big big room, bathroom a bit dilapidated. Excellent swimming pools. Climb the stairs, only two or three flights.

I liked it, so did the critter living in the ceiling space.

If you stay there, there were two gogos behind White House. Next to the one on the left is a beer bar I highly recommend--local owner, nice guy.

Ashboy, thanks for the information. I will check the place out when I get there. I like a place with a good swimming pool.

Their guest policy will be no problem. Unfortunately, my Thai wife always insists on coming to Pattaya with me. :clap2

Have they got possums in the ceiling of the Silversand Hotel? Maybe it was just a big rat. :D

If you're with the wife, the new wing could be a good place to stay.

Plus easy baht bus to downtown Pattaya.

I never did find our what it was in the roof (I was on the top floor) and it never came into the room, so we got on fine. I've slept in enough stockmans huts and bush shacks not to get worried by things that go scuffle in the night. :P
