Cheap Direct Flights from Europe

Recommended Posts

Getting a direct flight from UK is expensive so I was thinking it may be cheaper to fly on some cheap Easyjet flight or Ryanair to Europe and get a direct flight to BKK from there.

Does anyone know if flights are cheaper in rest of Europe to BKK compared to UK?

Sheesh! How cheap do you want? :ang2 A cursory check through some of the previous posts this year will show shit loads of cheap flights from the UK (BA and Etihad at less than 300 quid, Thai, Qatar and EVA at less than 400 quid and the list goes on and on).

As a starting point go to the e-bookers main site, scroll down to the bottom of the home page and select whichever European country you want to price up and then input your details. It will then come up with a price.

In August it's about £600+ for a direct. I'm happy with £400-£500 all in but it doesn't seem possible. I'm hoping my mate will be able to get me another BA Hotline deal as that was tops £299 return all in but I have my doubts as peak time in August.

Why do you want to travel to Europe on Easyjet or Ryanair to link up with a "direct" flight? It seems a bit pointless when you can get the same flight with KLM, Swiss, Lufthansa, Austrian etc on a through ticket? :clueless

I would say that 600 quid for travel in early/mid August is a pretty good deal.

This will be my first trip in late Oct/Early Nov. I've been offered £635 EVA Air LHR-BKK direct Evergreen Deluxe. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal or if I should wait a couple of months to see if it gets cheaper nearer to the time? It's a gamble I know, I'm just trying to get an idea of the odds, I've never booked anything except economy before.

Thanks

Try Gordon at Gazelle travel ( 0191 261 8616 ) . I got 27th Aug - 12 Sept with China Airlines for £499 inc taxes , which is a great price from Ireland . There is a stopover in Amsterdam but Schipol is a nice airport to spend an hour or 2 .

Book it as if that's when you want to go you don't want to wait and find all the flights booked to save a couple of bob.

That sounds about the right fare and you won't get much cheaper than that.

Stamboy,

Did you not call the number I gave you? (dailaflight)

Eva air IMHO is very good for the price and it is direct! the stewardesses were very pretty & also very pleasant on all the flights I have flown with them, I think they are all tiawanese? service was fine with all the alchol you want! (within reason of-course, different if you get very drunk & abusive etc) leg room was good for me as I am only around 5ft 7'

Jai yen yen!

Stiffler.

I did Stiffler but they quoted more so I went online through Opodo.co.uk but thanks anyway. I got a hotline deal for £299 last time as a mate works at BA but they are £679 this time!!! Hence Eva. Maybe next time I go I'll get lucky with Hotline deal again.

I can't believe I'm going back again so quick. Only able to as getting new job so the time off is between jobs!

Thanks, that's what I was looking for. I'll go for it, I was worried that someone would say it was going to be a lot cheaper in a month or so.

The extra 5 Kgs baggage that Evergreen Deluxe gives will be useful and I want the larger seat (BIG Brian, get it!).

Hi rob if they are the same as ebookers travelbag etc which they probably are. They will charge you for credit cards such as visa,so i always pay with my banks debit card at no extra cost.If money is tight at the minute try and take money out of the whole in the wall with your visa and throw it into your bank and then pay with your debit card give gazelle a bell to make sure good luck.
