I'm going over to LOS early next year to see the other half. She wants us to go to Cha am. I haven't been there before and I cannot really find a lot of info about the place. Does anybody have good hotels they could recommend and general comments about the place. It is kind of a family holiday as she bringing her daughter and her sisters kids.

Thanks

Cha Am is just north of Hua Hin and a lot quieter.

Cha Am has the regent hotel, and little else.

If it's a family trip, suggest you stay in Hua Hin at either the Hilton or the Hyatt. Hilton has the better location, but the Hyatt is way bigger and greener and has a huge 'river pool' with a slide which the kids will love.

You may get more info on Hua Hin/ Cha Am from this site.

There are a bunch of guesthouses right along the beach. Looked at them with the idea of maybe staying but then decided to go on to Hau Hin so I can't give you specifics. But a lot of Thais staying there so it couldn't be too expensive. If you arrive during the week, you probably will find lots to choose from.

Cheers

  • 3 weeks later...

stayed in cha am for a couple of nights in august at the long beach hotel which we got on special offfer for B1000 a night. It has areasonable beach which kids might like, and quite a few restaurants on the seafront road - but seems to close around10pm. there aare no bars really on the seafront though there may be some on the road connecting to the bangkok highway, We ended up going to Hua Hin each night which has much more going on at night.
