problem with bookings

hi

 

begining to get worried booked with a company called travelhouseuk for 7 seats to bkk on Eva Air in early October.

 

got good price etc ad gave credit card details (website shows they are abta and atol etc) all done over phone

 

credit card never debited and no sign of flight confirmations even though the guy at travelhouse said all seats were reserved.

 

began to get worried so rang eva direct

 

they confimed me and my wife had reservations but said no sign of other 5 seats (booked by sister using her card).

 

Need advice from expert what to do

 

do i rebook elsewhere and if i do do i ring eva and release the seats

 

or do i hold on and try and contact the guy at travelhouse - been ringing for over a week and only get answering machine and have left messages to no avail

 

apartently they are one of a number of travel companies based at a mosque in houdslow

 

advice gratefully accepted

im no expert but...if they say the flights are booked and they arent why not give abta or atol a ring.. youve nothing to lose.. it might all be some misunderstanding.. but for your piece of mind it may be worth a phone call! good luck!

travelhouseuk.co.uk should not be confused with Travel House Group and I am surprised that they are allowed to operate under that name. Travel House Group (THG) is part of the TUI/Thomson/Lunn Poly group of companies and is entirely above board.

 

travelhousegroup.co.uk only acts as an agent for, and is part of, a company called Polani Travel which is co-located at the same address in Hounslow. Their details are easily found on the net. Their website, although it appears quite professional, is actually a knock-off of Travelmood's (www.flynow.com) website.

 

You would be wasting your time approaching ABTA since neither are registered ABTA members. Polani is, however, ATOL registered so that should be your route to sort things out. Basically, when you pay for the tickets the agent is required to either issue the tickets within 24 hours or provide an ATOL certificate within the same timeframe, normally in the form of a booking confirmation showing the full flight details, cost and ATOL reference of whoever is supplying the flights.

 

I would get in touch with ATOL and take their guidance. They are extremely helpful and tend to lean in favour of the consumer and will provide a good point of reference if things get a bit messy.

thanks for the advice

 

I gave the credit card numbers to them but they have not debited either card

 

I also discovered that they are affiliated with Polani and rang them but they deny owning travelhouseuk although they are in the same building

 

If you do a search on the address you come up with quite a few travel companies registered at that address

 

Me and the wife are booked as i said before as i checked with eva but i am worried re trickets and final price ?

 

will try again today and then give atol a ring

travelhouseuk.co.uk is certainly a fully-owned, trading subsidiary of Polani. If you need confirmation, go to the ATOL website that I linked to in my previous post and enter the ATOL number 5311 in the quick search field and it will show the connection quite clearly.

finally got through to a guy named Alex apparently the agent dealing with my booking was off on leave but all is now sorted seats reserved only minor hicup was wrong return date but now fixed

 

roll on 4th October

2 weeks in Pattaya

then two weeks up North

Might do Laos or if the missus lets me Cambodia

 

will post photos sorry no sanuk this trip
