cheapest air in june from east coast

Recommended Posts

June is my market and I have been watching... Cathay is running around $1300 from NWR and JFK. Thai is always expensive and direct from JFK to BKK for $1600 (US) all in (17 hours Non stop). Delta from East Coast for 27 hours is under $1300 all in. Delta arrives in around 11:30 pm, Thai comes in around 6 pm... (good for another day, really). Always a difficult choice. I have FF miles with Delta so I'm stuck until I can get a free flight. I think THAI is a better deal...

In general the prices seem to sky rocket in June due to the summer travel season (SEA residents of USA with children out of school traveling home). You would be lucky to find anything in the $1000 - 1200 range. Generally prices go up in June and back down in September - you can save big bucks by heading over the end of May or Early September.

EVA has a special of $550 USD RT LAX to BKK but it expires the end of May and it is for "cattle class" (that's coach class that is more like domestic US coach than say Cathy coach to SEA). Depending on your size and needs it could be a bargain even with finding RT to LAX seperately.

Try doing a search on this site: http://www.skyauction.com

You can probably get something on NWA (although they don't disclose the airline until purchase) for $1200 inclusive of all fees/taxes.

Also, sometimes they have JAL 'summer specials' from LAX to BKK but they won't be advertised for a few months.

Think if you fly China Air, when you book, you can request your FF miles can go into your Delta Skymiles program.

I checked into what you said and found you are correct! I was able to book THAI air non-stop through US airways dividend miles operator and get full dividend miles credit since they are a partner airlines. Thanks for the info.

The EVA fare you saw does not include taxes, which when added makes it a $765 fare
