Just got an email from BVP about a room inquiry, and they are asking for my CC information in order to secure a reservation. Curious if others have gone through with this in the past? I'd rather not send out that information if at all possible.

It's pretty standard to have to give out credit card information to book a reservation at a hotel. I did this with BVP and have not even received a charge. I do not use credit cards for this purpose. I get a debit card for a little over the amount I will be charged for the room. That way, my only risk is the cost of the room.

for my response to a reservation request at BVP.

The last time I booked the Bella Villa Prima they did not ask for a credit card. However, upon arrival they demanded I pay for my entire stay in advance. I refused and countered by giving them a cash deposit equivalent to a few days tenancy. They never said another word about it.

I have never been asked to pay in advance there. I have shown my credit card on arrival and I checked out a couple of days early one time and there was no porblem at all.
