Suit from the Beachroad tailors ?

Recommended Posts

I had 2 suits made from a tailors in Walking Street, cannot remember the name but it was on the same side as stoneys bar about 4 shops further on towards toneys. Suits were well made, I cannot remember exactly how much i paid but i think it was around £80 for 2 suits and 5 shirts. They do hit you with extras when you order :- type of buttons and lining etc. But if you do not want this then say no and the price should be as advertised. I still have both suits now, i think it was around 4 to 5 years ago i had them made.

I had a blazer in a wool/cashmere mix, 2 fittings, cheap buttons, no option offerred, 2000bht. President Tailors next to Tonys Disco in Walking Street.

Advertised on a dummy in front window 2000bht that was what it cost.

For the money excellent value and good quality.

What is a bit scammy with some of them is they advertise a price on the board outside that seems well cheap (no mention of fabric) but when you get inside they tell you the fabric is extra, that price is for the making only, so it ends up being not so cheap, but they got you in there on a scam, I would say.

That is enough for me to just walk out the door without further consideration.

Dont worry about them being scammers.. Just negotiate and dont buy at the first shop you enter.. Have bought about 10 suits over the years. Its just finind a place your comfortable with. BUT no problem with them doing something wrong to you. Get everything discussed up front :-)

If possible order a little bit eraly instead of last min just in case adjustments needed. And try it on in your room too OK!! I made that mistake and just grabbed it and ran later

Samsonite. I don't know if I am thinking about the same "chinese" tailor, but the one I used to use is on beach road towards soi 6 from central and is called something like OMO. Excellent workmanship on the suits I have had made. Prices used to be very reasonable even if you chose best materials. Not the quickest as I went back for two fittings each time but far cheaper than home.
